To put things into perspective, that 22 game win streak we had was pure fun and a joyous occasion, but we knew we weren't serious contenders as soon as Yao went down. So we enjoyed it for what it was worth. But this current streak, impressive as it is, isn't what this season is about. Our guys said it themselves, they don't care about it. Their only focus is on how they can play better. Remember this is their first season together, and they're only going to get better. Suffice to say, we're looking good. And we can get even better.
The injuries is what makes it crazy and our first year together. Our roster is definitely the deepest of any Rockets team ever but given the circumstances it’s still insane.
It’s been a great season no doubt, but if the Rockets don’t compete for the title this year it’ll also be a pretty massive disappointment for me personally. They’ve almost reached the “point of no return” in which they have to win the title.
I think Barkley and Kellerman are right.. If you think about a rox team with their big 3 going 35-1 almost perfect through half the season and you add a lebron james to that mix.. we may actually crack 80 games, if relative health prevails and come close to breaking the NBA....
As much as it pains me to say it, it’s pretty amazing the run GSW has had. They are on that list 3 times with 67 wins twice. That’s incredible.... But that run will end this year......
I'm a little scared to admit it to myself because I thought we were a year away... But we are really, REALLY good....
Just because of the the addition of CP3, it feels like: - If Harden has a bad game, we're still probably going to win. - If CP3 has a bad game, we're still probably going to win. - If both Harden and CP3 have bad games, we might still have a chance to win. - If both Harden and CP3 are on, we're unbeatable.
This team is a definite title favorite in any other year outside of Golden State's recent run - in fact we would crush a lot of very good historical teams if we faced them. That being said - I'm still concerned with our offensive strategy in late game situations. I feel like the ISO style of playing late in a game makes it easier for elite defensive teams like Golden State to load up on us. I know we have still managed to win a few games recently despite that but I think that's more because of our defensive play and the problem with that is GS can still be un-defense-able.
Doesn't mean anything until we do something in the playoffs. The regular season is where you make your name, but the postseason is where you make your fame. - Walt Frazier
No team is capable of beating us in a 7 games series outside the warriors, so I would be shocked if we don't play in the Conf final, speaking of the warriors am not getting my hopes up if we face them but still I wouldn't be shocked if we beat them, this team is so good in so many areas and thank god we are peaking at the right time.
and remember even if you win this postseason, you will never ever be able to win vs spurs in the game 6 last year
The Rockets deserve credit just for rising up to meet the challenge the Warriors present. Seems like most franchises were happy to just kick the dirt for a year or two to wait for them to run out of gas or something. The Rockets were all, "We have to beat the best team ever? Okay, we'll get on that right now."
As others have pointed out, great REGULAR SEASON team. Morey gets us PG13 or Lebron and we can talk about GREAT.
