    thought @durvasa's article fits well here, too.

    Mbah a Moute has always stood out as a perfect example to demonstrate our collective bias toward offense....As talent evaluators we need to ask ourselves: how many other players are like this? How many players over-perform their salaries because of undervalued skillsets?​

    Luc's been so underrated for this team. The Rockets were 22-4 before he went down in that game vs Charlotte. They went 8-7 in his absence. They've been 21-2 since his return(and BTW, one of those two losses was in his very first night back in the now infamous "secret entrance" game at the Clippers).

    His defense and court prowess is critical for team success. If his contract is for one season he is likely gone next season.

    I hope not. Unless Project LeBron pans out, the Rockets would be wise to hang onto him by any means necessary.

    Nobody is going to offer him more than an MLE level deal and we can offer that as well. No reason to think he won't be back if both sides want that to happen.

    Let's hope that will be enough to keep him in Houston. Luc is my 3rd favorite player on our team, after CP3 and Harden.

    In this current market he will be lucky to get a full MLE offer somewhere. Money is TIGHT. Now, he is a great fit for a contender, but he's not a great shooter so that will still limit his market. We'll have to see what all happens, but I'm hoping we can use part of the MLE to retain him and part of it do something else.

    I remember when we signed him, I was like... uhh... really? (I didn't watch much Clippers games)

    I have been eating crow since, this guy is unbelievable. Just awareness and defense is AMAZING for this team. In addition, his drives to the basket are big threat too.

    Paul called him on the phone. That's how it happened.

    Keep in mind, Morey will not Apron himself next year, which happens the moment you use the Full MLE or do a SnT, as examples. So, we'll only use the lower MLE, not the full one. That will be around $5.2m or so.

    I was ecstatic when we got him for such a low price. I figured he signed with us because CP3 was here and they'd started alongside each other in LA. Hopefully that gives us an edge in resigning him.

    I had no idea what kind of game Luc has. I’ve been so impressed with his defense and versatility. He’s basically Shane Battier.

    I'm not with y'all, I KNEW Luc could ball. I just don't get how the Clippers played bad defense with him starting next to Deandre and CP3.

    Luc Mbah a Moute is the best signing we had this offseason. Tucker a close #2, especially the way he's been playing since ASB. Those guys are money.

    I wonder if Morey has calculated that if you pay for playmakers, you can get strong players who fit with them pretty cheap.
