yeah, it’s still in effect...OKC would have to ask Melo to provide a list if they wanted to trade him

I see him opting in too...the market is dry, and he hasn’t played well

How embarrassing would it be for Russ if he actually missed the playoffs after adding PG and Melo?

Harden with that same OKC team would be pushing 60 wins, no doubt

Indy already felt it was in a position to lose PG even with the ability to offer the highest salary. Dwight bolted for less money to join us. Durant bolted to join the Warriors and Hayward left money on the table to join the Celtics. It seems like a common enough occurrence. I can’t imagine George is enjoying himself in OKC. Even their fans realize he’s halfway out the door. And truthfully, there’s nothing OKC can do about the Melo situation. He’s got an option he’s sure to exercise and still has his no-trade clause. They are stuck with him.

Obviously you fire Donovan after the season. Presti too? He's drafted well, but of the big three, he kept the worst one. Westbrook. Big mistake.

If Presti was allowed to spend above the luxury tax, they would have kept Harden and dominate the league for the foreseeable future.

I'm not sure that would have happened unless they were smart enough to dump Westbrick. I think no matter what he'd have run the other 2 off.

This is revisionist history. Harden was still on his rookie deal, they could have kept him for 1 year and then sorted it out next year. Also, the only reason OKC didn't have money was because they gave it to Kendrick Perkins who turned out to be a dud. Finally, to make ends meet Presti didn't have to trade Harden, he could have traded Westbrick instead and got a King's ransom for him.

Presti is an amazing drafter but his trades and FA signings have been mediocre to horrible.

Honestly though Presti should have been fired once it was clear he lost KD and Harden and kept the worst of the 3 when he could have gotten much more for Westbrick at the time than he did for Harden. If he has the sense to trade away Westbrick, then the Thunder have at least one championship by now and KD is still there.

I've always wondered. If OKC traded Westbrook instead Harden to us, what would Clutchfans be like after a few years of watching a Westbrook-led team.

(I think it is reasonable to assume that Morey would take Westbrook for the same package, being desperate for a star at that time.)

Lakers definitely look like a better situation than the Thunder right now. They don't look like they'll be contenders in the near future, but with cap space, major improvement from Ingram/Ball/Kuzma and their picks, no one could blame PG for jumping ship.

George will also make a ton of money in endorsements in LA that could more than makeup for losing that extra year in OKC.

Patrick Patterson was signed to a 16 million 3 year deal and he scored 0 points off the bench, plus they are over the luxury tax. Also the stadium was quite empty when the Rockets were playing them. I guess they now realize Westbrook Triple Double Stats MVP is a mirage, Westbrook steals Rebounds from his teammates, by poking the ball away from his teammates hand, how delusional is this guy when he is playing. I have no idea why Harden is best friends with him.

We would be praising Westbrook and trashing harden. Same as with ever other player. Clutchfans trashed CP3 for flopping and now he is point gawd. The board loved Bev and now hates him.

Doubtful, The Rockets would be in a MUCH worse situation if they got stuck with that cancer instead of stealing Harden from OKC.

speak for yourself. I never trashed cp3 and always thought that he was a fantastic player. I also still love Bev.

I would definitely be questioning westbrooks abilities as a winning player if he was a rocket.

Clutchfans would think Triple Doubles are the best thing since 95.
