Imagine Kenny trying to cover Harden and Paul on the switch. He would have had to have surgery on those ankles. If KJ, Stockton, and Starks did what they did to Kenny, imagine what Harden would do to Kenny. I also think Harden would put Dream in foul trouble because he would have ran right into him every chance he got, and Dream always had the propensity to get in foul trouble.

Harden and CP3 together is probably better than just Hakeem surrounded by good role players. But as far as those role players, they're pretty even. Ryno is nothing more than Bullard playing in the perfect era for himself IMO. It's laughable he's a starting PF making 20 mil and people say todays NBA is so much greater and deeper. Otis Thorpe and Capela are pretty equal IMO. Id take Mario over Tucker easily as Mario was a way better playmaker. Horry is better than Ariza. Rookie Cassell is better than Gordon all around. Kenny or Mad Max are better than Luc/JJ or Green. Nene better than Herrera but not by much at his point. It's a different era obviously, but 94 Rockets would easily fit in today and our role players would only get better as this era suits a lot of their talents.

Depends on the rules on which the game is played.

Maxwell would go to the hoop all day because of his quickness.

The 95 team had great 3 point shooters, Kenny, Cassell, Mario, Robert and Pete Chilcutt

I'm going by the benefit of the doubt of playoff performances.

95 Hakeem couldn't be stopped if he played against athletes in the year 9999

Matt Bullard is more Steve Novak than Ryan Anderson, Ryno is closer to Detlef Schrempf than Matt Bullard.

This years team was not available in the simulator.

You can put together a dream team, maybe I will play around with that.

But the argument is this year's team, so you might as well have shown how the 1995 team compares to the Space Jam team.

Both averaged 16-19 points during their respective peaks, on similar shooting splits.

    Dude,
DS played in a completely different era, I'd add +5 points

Plus Ryan Anderson sucks in the playoffs

hahahaha. Detlef in his prime averaged 19, 9.5 and 6 assists. Stop it.

No help defense = teams had to hard double team = shooters were left wide open instead of kinda open.

Interesting that Schrempf's better years were all in his 30s, and was a marginal role player through his first few Indiana years.

There is no way to really compare the 1995 team to the 2018 team head to head because the rules are just so different.

    Ryno couldn't carry Detlef's jock.

    Best regular season team.

Need to win a couple rings to be considered better.

Off the top of my head?

The illegal defense rule, the 3 point line has been moved, the no charging area has been added, the 3 second rule, the backcourt time has been shortened. That doesn't even take into account hand checking and changes in what is and isn't considered a foul. The game was called very very different 20 years ago. Officials 20 years ago seldom called contact away from the ball. Flopping was far less likely to result in a foul.

The Rockets of 1995 were built to succeed under the rules and officiating of that period of time. The 2018 team is built to thrive under the rules and officiating of now.

You really cannot compare them in a hypothetical head to head match up. The winner would depend on the rules and officiating.

Yes back in the Moses Malone era, there was no 3 point line.
    Rules do matter.

I think this current team is better and more basketball talented.

However, I’d give the slight nod to the 95 team. There is some unmeasurables on that team that was special.
