    Harden's defense was piss-poor two seasons ago. We can acknowledge that and also acknowledge that he's been much improved much of last year and this year. A lot of that is a better defensive strategy that hides his weaknesses (chasing guys around screens or moving his feet on the perimeter) and emphasizes his strengths (quick hands and sturdy defense against bigger players closer to the basket).

    Not to play the contrarian, but there are still some instance where Harden's ball-watching and overeagerness to help, leaves his man wide open for a shot. If that shot doesn't go in, it's not really addressed, but if that shot goes in, it definitely makes some highlight reel.

    Harden's wing defense and transition defense still needs to improve, but he's a lot better now, than when he was playing defense a couple of years ago.

    Spot on analysis.

    I think the main critique you could give of Harden's defense is his inconsistent effort. Defense is all about giving effort especially when the odds are not favorable. As we know Harden can sometimes quit when things look bad.

    Shaq is a complete dick. Even last night, when Chris Webber was asking if he had any advice for AD about the struggles of carrying a team on his shoulders, Shaq HAD to chime in with, "Wasn't a struggle for me." Mother****er, you had Penny Hardaway, Kobe Bryant, and Dwyane Wade throughout your career. Don't ****ing act like you carried your teams year in and year out. You didn't.
