I guess it depends really on the rules. With the rules today I think the harden/cp3 duo would be hard to stop. Hakeem did have trouble with sonics and with the rules today everyone can play like the sonics.
The old Rockets honestly did have the personnel to play the modern way. They shot a lot of threes (relatively) and I imagine would make many more as well if they played in today's game. Hakeem's game is transcendent and he would probably be as, if not more dominant in today's game. Tough Call but here is my pick if I had to make a choice (assuming the old Rockets team has time to acclimate to modern rules and 3 pt offensive philosophy) 7 game series: 1995 Rockets win in 6-7 games Needless to say, if the old Rockets employed 90s style offense they would probably be crushed in 4-5 games, math is a b****
95 Rockets in a very close 7 game series. I'm gonna be a homer and say 95 Rockets would beat every team in the last 20 years in a 7 game series. Dream was just that good. Dream is like life and..
Exactly. People respected us but no one was scared to play us. Coaches were scared of Dream but they weren't scared of the Rockets during the champioship years. Right now, teams are terrified to play us. They expect to lose against us and every game against us is a playoff game for the other team.
I think Cassell would kill in the modern NBA, but he would have to take more 3's and less mid range shots which he is totally capable of. When Cassell was allowed to run a team, he was amazing.
This team is cleary better than the Championship team. BTW, I simulated 95 Rockets vs the 17 Rockets on whatifsports.
This is tough to say because no one on the current team would be able to stop prime Hakeem. He would destroy everyone on the low block. But current team can score buckets in a hurry. No way I can pick
Didn't the 95 rockets smoke like 3 60+ win teams in the playoffs? And I like Rudy T and CD, but I think Hakeem always had to carry teams with some serious holes compared to the deep and balanced teams Morey always built.
You got to simulate this more than once, we used it to pit our Fantasy BBall Squads against each other, it ain't exactly accurate enough. And they dun have the 17/18 version.
How are two teams from different eras playing each other? Answer that one Smart guy! But no, I am sure its the site coding. Looking at entire roster for the year, and then some algorithm of performance.
95 Olajuwon is the perfect player. That dude who dismantled David Robinson and took it to Shaq was the best offensive and defensive player in the playoffs. Also heart. I'm impressed with Harden's heart, it's gotten better. I see no quit in him. However, Hakeem Olajuwon was playing at a MVP level during Ramadan without food or water. NOBODY ON THE CURRENT TEAM CAN DO THAT.
Considering the argument is about this year's team, what point did this one game simulation with last year's team prove?
