As a Portland fan, you got that correct.
With the way Dame is playing and having the 5th best record in the league with an iffy supporting cast, I think he enters the mvp conversation. Not as a favorite, but someone who should finish top 5 in votes.

    Mvp is still easily Harden's.

    1. Harden
    2. Davis
    3. Lillard
    4. Derozan
    5. Irving

Curry and Durant are up there as well, but they have so many star players I don't think any one player is even the mvp of their team. They cancel each other out.

LeBron is still the best/ one of the best players in the league, but his team has been trash half of the year.

Westbrook. ... well, **** Westbrook. That is something we can all agree on.

Damian Lillard and his fans have always loved to complain about how "underrated" he is (never mind that his defense is actually *worse* than Harden at his most disinterested). This resulted in hilarity when he made the 2016 all-nba second team over Harden, who didn't make A SINGLE ALL-NBA TEAM THAT YEAR! Instead of complaining all summer about it, Harden had his historic 16-17 year and thrust himself into the MVP race.

So Mr. Lillard, James Harden is the league's rightful MVP and neither you nor your weird Portland buddies can take it away from him.

Seems I have heard that argument before when the supporting cast was actually NBA quality...

he’s fighting for 2nd place with the rest of the competition...it’s a wrap already

if people want to talk about who will finish 2-5 in the MVP race then cool, I’m not interested in that conversation tho

Nothing against Dame, but like others said he should be considered for the runner up eventually, no one in on par with what James did and is doing this season for his team, the media are just trying to find every possible name out there to have a discussion while ignoring the fact that we have a better record than "the best team ever" and ignoring the fact that we had plenty of injuries this season.

It's also funny the argument "little help" for guys like Lillard and Davis when they're playing with borderline all stars like CJ, Holiday and talented players like Nurkic and Rondo, last season i heard Harden wasn't as deserving as Westbrook cause he was playing with Gordon and Ryan Anderson...****ing lol.

In my opinion MVP should be the player who brings out the best in his teammates, as much as his indivual stats. Harden, Davis, Lillard are all ahead of Lebron regarding that. Lebron may be the best player in the world but it hasnt reflected to the Cavs team as a whole this season. Major distractions, team shakeups, etc etc. I'm a LeBron guy but I am tired of the "LeBron should win it every year" narrative.

Lillard is playing well and major kudos to Portland for really getting on track. They do not deserve to be mocked nor ignored.

That said, Harden is having a better season statistically and has a significantly better team. It doesn't take anything away from Lillard though who deserves a lot of respect and should be proud of what he and his team have accomplished.

Portland as a team and fan base are easily the thirstiest MFers in the entire league.

I'd argue that having Nurkic the entire season has been more valuable. Without him anchoring that defense, this team would look exactly like last year's in terms of performance
