.787 Winning Percentage

    Of the top 25 teams in NBA history in terms of winning percentage, 16 went on to win the title (teams at .787 and above). That’s a pretty significant chunk and regular season success is usually indicative of playoff success.

    What I found interesting is the drop off after that number. At .781 and below, the next 30 teams only won the chip 8 times. Currently the Rockets sit at .789, good for 24th best and just a tick inside the top 25.
