The "best" part of this, of course, beyond all the harm it will do to our own country's economy, is that the world has finally regained most of its footing after the epic 2008 meltdown. A trade war won't hurt global confidence at all. Oh not at all.

He started a trade war on the grounds of national security. He should be impeached as a Congressional effort to maintain national security and global security. Dude is seriously moving beyond an embarrassment now to something like a menace.

For someone who went to Wharton, Trump knows very, very little about business and economics. Has to be embarrassing for that school.

Cohn is a single issue guy in the admin - anti-tariffs. He knows he can't convince the others in the admin about anything else, but he is a moderating force on trade. His departure would be disconcerting for investors.

First thing you quoted was about Canadian jobs. Explains a lot, for sure.

He probably just got in because he was a son of a rich guy. Bush went to harvard and he was a C student. People with 4.0/1600 don't get into harvard.

Lol really? I guess it has nothing to do with the increased cost for the construction industry . That it actually hurts amercian industry and customers a like. Are you for tariffs? I thought republicans are against taxes. I guess not. I proved the link to illustrate how stupid and short sighted trump is. It like he hasn’t learned from the past.

Should I quoted to you again. Since your reading comprehension is apparently limited

He likely cheated in order to graduate. His ignorance is only surpassed by his ego, which is only surpassed by his insecurities.

You REALLY don't know what the US/Canadian soft-lumber trade actually is, do you?

You don't? You don't. Just admit it and shut the **** up.

"Donald Trump Was the Dumbest Goddam Student I Ever Had." - Professor William T. Kelley taught Marketing at Wharton School

Donald has absolutely zero individual merit. Everything was spoon feed to him.

To be fair, Donald has been pretty damn good at marketing himself. Made tons of money selling a rather shitty product.

Gotta be fair. Mr. trump excelled at Wharton - as a really lousy student. Yes, he's a so-called "rich" carnival barker. None of us know how "rich" he really is because he has done everything possible to hide his tax returns. Mr. trump isn't shy about tooting his own horn, but very shy at providing proof - of anything he says about himself.

I suspect that Director Mueller, in the course of his on-going investigation (and as everyone should know, if you're a former director of the FBI or the CIA, for example, you're called director (capital D) the rest of your professional life, just like a former US ambassador keeps the title, or a former Sec. of State, etc., as a courtesy, unless it's supplanted by a more significant title later), has seen those tax returns, sitting on the information like he sits on all important finds in his investigation, until he's ready to reveal things at his own pace. My personal belief about Mr. trump's "wealth" is that he is heavily in debt, and who holds his debt markers is something very important to the investigation, and that most of his "fortune" is tied up with being a brand name, not on the free and clear ownership of massive real estate holdings in New York City, the common belief among many. We'll see, eventually.

Oh, and why do I always refer to Mr. trump as Mr. trump, and not Mr. P(fill in the rest)? Because I think he colluded with Putin's government to defraud the American people during the 2016 election, with the voting so close in a few key states that my understanding is that around 30,000 votes could have swung a close election "his way." In other words, I don't think the fellow has earned the title, not honestly. That he and his pals colluded with a hostile foreign power to tamper with our democratic elections in order to insure a "victory" for Mr. trump.

So Mr. trump doesn't deserve to carry the title that election would ordinarily confer. Mr. trump is a cheater, a liar, and quite possibly acted knowingly as a traitor, unless one assumes his stupidity and ignorance knows no bounds, all with the help of cyber warfare conducted by Putin and what used to be called the KGB, Putin's former employer during the days of the Soviet Union. In my humble opinion.

This is the more amazing whopper, along with breaking precedent by invoking national security.

It’s like doesn’t know how integrated the US and Canada and the rest of the Allies are when it comes to supply chain. He really going to **** up the economy he inherited. First he pushed tax cuts to an already strong economy which has a great chance to over heat which in turn will create inflation then he decides to do this. It’s like he doing this on purpose. I wonder why he is trying to sabotage the economy. I wonder who is giving him these ideas. Hmm.....
