    Because of their crime.

Do you think stricter gun laws will make it harder for a Chicago gang member to get a gun

You're right the problem exist because of too many circumstances

Gun control people not only feel you are infringing on their rights and you aren't doing anything to stop every day American violence. You have to address that concern because there is truth to it.

Everyday criminals don't buy guns at Walmart

But you used their "strict" gun laws for your argument.

Anyway, I suspect stricter gun laws will make it more difficult. Now the question becomes how much more difficult. 100% more difficult, clearly not. 50%, probably not. 10-25%, perhaps. Is that a bad thing?

Strict gun laws can stop all mass shootings

That wouldn't put 1% dent in total murders in this country.

Im not a gun lover. I'm just putting the divide in the issue in perspective. Democrats aren't close to addressing the other side's concerns

It's a shame that mass shootings happen obviously.

America's outrageous murder rate for an industrialized nation isn't because of mass shootings. It's because of everyday crime that a lot of us are desensitized to

So, reasonable gun laws can't also put a dent in everyday crime?

Criminals don't buy guns legally. Contrary to popular belief they don't use AR 15s.

So it probably would do very little. On every day crime getting existing guns off the street is the issue

Really? Not a single criminal buys a gun legally? Do you realize how absurd of a statement that is and how patently easy it is to disprove?

    Disprove it

We're talking 18 year old mile long rap sheet gang bangers

Their me methods of getting guns are way under the table

Really...weren’t the gun(s) used in Parkland legally purchased? He is clearly a criminal.

    I'm not talking about Parkland

This is not moving goalposts. Sometimes I don't clearly state my point.

If you are going to make it harder for everyone to purchase guns you have to address crime.

If not the people who have guns for protection aren't listening

I don't want to argue about gun laws as much as much as trying to address the communication gap

Clearly a huge number of guns that are known to have been used in crimes are not bought legally. But clearly guns that have been used in crimes HAVE been bought legally. Make your point without hyperbole.

What hyperbole. Kids shooting each other or robbing don't have legal guns

Everyday crime has to be addressed by Democrats if they want to be listened to. Parkland as far as crime is concerned isn't the opposition's concern as much as protection from everyday crime

No...your statement that criminals don’t buy guns legally is hyperbole. Are you saying that 100% of criminals buy guns illegally?

When Trump talks about Chicago crime, he shouldn't be dismissed as throwing red meat

The city had a very bad year

    Everyday type crime.

Bro I'm not saying 100 just so you can find one crime.

But close to 100. We're talking criminals who most already can't legally buy guns now

    @bobrek

Democrats rightly or wrongly have a bad reputation for not being tough on crime.

If they want to address gun control they can help themselves by addressing everyday crime

You DiD already say all. It’s easy to find a rough percentage and it is ridiculously high, but it is also not ALL. So simply argue with “an enormous number of gun crimes are committed with illegally purchased guns”.

Examples of things that can be done to address everyday crime?
