    I apologize, this clip is not as good as the thread title would have you assume.

    Chris Ryan, from The Ringer, dislikes the Rockets and Harden, but it's hard to explain. I think this is what a lot of fans struggle with; They don't know why they dislike Harden and the Rockets they just do.

    Justin Verrier, who likes the Rockets, says the Rockets give off a f**k you vibe GSW never had. This is a shocking statement to me. Do the Rockets give off a F**k you vibe? GSW will throws up a 3 and won't wait to see if it goes in before running up the court. GSW will mock you at half court after a Curry qtr ending shot.

    WTF... Rockets give off a F-You vibe??? GSW freaking said F-YOU to the whole league when they added KD to a 73-win team!

    Cant wait for the Rockets to give the league a real F-YOU when they're holding the championship trophy

    This to me is very simple. Aesthetics. Too efficiency driven. Too robotic. PnR...threes & layups...get to the foul line... Rinse & Repeat. It's a mathematics based winning formula. Not always the most exciting. Honestly, it's a dumb reason to hate on a player or a team. But there are a lot of dumb people in this world.

    None of the clowns at The Ringer ever have an original idea. They just parrot the bullshit that Bill Simmons spouts and think they're clever.

    Chris Ryan and Juliet Litman had this whole bit earlier this week about how unfortunate it was that the rockets have great chemistry and its so unfortunate that they are a great team.

    That clown Ryan topped it off by saying OKC is going to the WCF, not Houston. Absolute ****wit

    It's cool that they sort of recognize the hate as being irrational. At least he's trying to be somewhat thoughtful and introspective about it. :)

    I think what he says is true for a lot of people. They feel the Rockets play "cheat code" style of basketball where they (a) switch everything defensively, (b) ISO the hell out of the ball with Harden or CP3, (c) shoot 3's pretty much indiscriminately. Plus all the traditional stuff basketball junkies enjoy like off-ball movement, keeping the ball moving, and 5-men on a string team defense with various sophisticated schemes for help defense is not really part of this team's M.O. And they are just frustrated that the way we play actually is working.

    I don't care if everyone hates the Rockets.

    But I draw the line at people saying the Warriors don't have the most annoying persona of any team in sports.

    joking aside, that theory too has some validity... but look at how Morey and his analytics are treated by the people around league... people don't like boring winning formulas... but we've kinda figured them out... it's just not always visually appealing, I guess

    I think this is actually a weird part of the unconscious psychology at work. At some point, the NBA collective agreed that James Harden wasn't good enough to win, that Mike D'Antoni wasn't good enough to win, and that Chris Paul wasn't good enough to win. Therefor, every time the Rockets win a game, it's nothing more than an annoyance. Why try? You aren't good enough. Stop doing your ****ing math problems. You can't win in the playoffs. This is taken as natural law.

    Even when all the evidence tells them that this is an elite team, that evidence is inconsistent with what they already believe, so it causes cognitive dissonance, which is unpleasant. Because they cause this discomfort, the Rockets are unlikeable for reasons that are hard to articulate.

    I don't think this is true at all. They have an ludicrously huge bandwagon, but that creates annoyed neutral fans too. I think it will be 50/50. Not in the media, though.

    It's really weird, because if there were some other team that were brutally honest with their analytics based approach, and tried to maximize points per possession every single time (like we do), I would be very interested in that team. What makes one to hate such approach? It's the most obvious strategy in the world. Also, this is not a circus show. If you want entertainment over everything else, go watch Globetrotters.
