Nov 1993 (15-0 start in championship year) Feb 2008 (22 game winning streak) Feb 2018 (.... game wining streak : ) Exactly 10 years after the infamous 22 game winning streak. Amazing how rare it is! This team is no joke and it's nothing compared to that 2008 team that crawled from 7th or 8th to 1st during the streak and lost it soon after. We are firmly at the top and should be favorites to win every single this season (like Mark Jackson acknowledged last night). What a time to be alive
Revenge game 2.0 Saturday night. Wish Smart was playing. I also wish tickets were less than 150 bucks for upper deck, but it is what it is. Hope we're not peaking too soon.
That 2008 streak was unbelievable. I was at Toyota Center when they won their 21st straight over the Bobcats which at the time was the 2nd longest winning streak in NBA history. I've never heard the crowd that loud even in playoff games. But there was always this lingering feeling after Yao went down that the streak was exciting, but superfluous. There was no way they were winning the title without that guy. Hell, I didn't even think they'd win a single playoff series and as it turned out, that's exactly how things played out. This time around, it's different. There's still the nagging concern that is the Warriors. And obviously these guys have to stay healthy. Last time they won 14 straight this season(which is a weird thing to be able to say, BTW), they suddenly had a rash of injuries and wound up losing 5 straight. But I do feel confident enough to say that outside of Golden State, nothing can prevent this Rockets team(if healthy) from winning it all.
I was there for 22 vs LA. I agree. That **** was LOUDER than any playoff game I've been to. T-Mac would have agreed as well.
National media was hyping LeBron’s triple double average for Feb, and I’m like, “They lost 4 times!” One loss was against the Rockets in a filthy beat down. I was really hoping we’d clinch Feb as undefeated just to shut down any crap about LeBron closing in on Harden in the MVP race.
Fair enough. T-Mac never gave us much to cheer about in the postseason. But I have been to the following Rockets playoff games in my life: 1994 - Semifinals, Game 7 vs Phoenix 1995 - 1st Round, Game 4 vs Utah 1997 - WCF, Game 3 vs Utah 2015 - 1st Round, Game 1 vs Dallas A pretty small sample size, but even that Phoenix game which was huge for this franchise and completed the comeback from Choke City to Clutch City never got as loud as the 21st straight win in 2008. And that Game 7 was played in The Summit which IMO was a louder and more intimate arena than Toyota Center.
I get you. It was the first year I seriously started to follow the team so was definitely special in a lot of ways for me. That 2009 team would've been the one, had there not been so much drama with Tracy and Wafer not disappeared + thrown a tantrum. Also have to give credit to the 2013 team with Garcia & Beverley - just awesome the way they played with fire and an edge - but also Delfino, Brooks back, Harden's first year and a chance to beat that OKC team.
How can anybody be happy right now? Joe Johnson is still playing, that is the single most important thing. It clearly shows that pringles is a poor coach and will lead to collapse
Let's see how you feel in June. This team will change alot of minds :cough: :cough: 99ers :cough: :cough:
