Skip Bayless praising Harden? Nick Wright and Broussard calling him the best player in the NBA currently?.. the media finally giving out some overdue praise?

The Rockets deflected 25 passes on the second night of a back to back. That might be our high total for the year, just an outstanding, team-wide effort. (Typically, we get our hands on 12 deflections.)

And I know we're pretty down on Tarik Black. He's an easy target (can we please stop talking about hate, that's inappropriate, isn't it?) who can't seem to find any sort of rhythm (whether contesting shots without fouling, reacting as a help defender, not looking lost or out of place... etc.) But even as bad Tarik Black played, he came up with 4 loose balls in his 18 minutes of play. Please note: that's more than any player on the Utah Jazz. I love the effort that represents. For the game, the Rockets recovered a whopping 25 loose balls (led by Harden with 8).

Just to put that in context, Utah 14 deflections/14 loose balls recovered. . . The Jazz were fairly hell-bent on being physical--crashing into screens, stepping in front of straight line drives, blocking and contesting shots, but they failed in all the little things that make for winning basketball.

Last stat: blockouts. The last two games against very athletic, rangy teams (Denver and Utah) the Rockets have been piling up blockouts on the boards. Against Utah, we had 36 blockouts (to their 18). Against Denver, we had 31 (to their 33). Gone are the days when a shot goes up that we all stand around hoping the board comes to us. The reason our rebounding numbers have been so balanced and competitive is we are finishing possessions.

The Jazz--they're still standing around complaining... Do they even know what happened?

Now back to LA for a locker room showdown with the post-Griffin Clippers.

Rubio and Gobert are the best defensive 1-5 combo in the league. The Jazz are one piece away from championship contention. They gave us all we wanted. Don't want to see them in the playoffs. Would rather play OKC.

Rubio would be great in our system. MDA wanted him too. He loves Rubio. CP3 loves Rubio too. Deal with it.

Cp3 loves Rubio? I know harden loves Rubio... he loves Rubio when he is being guarded by Pretty boy Ricky because he usually embarrasses him with a ankle breaker

I believe the Jazz still lost with 4(3 major impact guys)of our guys out...they aren’t 1 piece away from being a championship team...they gave us their best at home on our 2nd night of a back to back...they can’t beat our bench they ain’t gonna beat us at full strength nor the warriors...

You honestly lost me when you had Rubio any where near the word Great...

We dealt with it, and Rubio, last night. The first series sweep since 1982. Without Moses. That's cause for jubilation.

is this just like your "mark my words capella can't play" claim. cause we all know how that has turned out. rubio is the opposite of what a mda and morey player is. when do your delusions stop

Whats hilarious is a professional nba team broke out a 3-2 zone bc thats how bad rubio is and would be a non factor.

Harden is at 31.4 ppg and Davis at 28.2 ppg

Harden has scored 1663 points so far this season in 53 games and Davis 1521 in 54 games played. Both teams have 22 games left in the season.

If Harden keeps his average at 31.4ppg for the season and end the season with 2354 points, assuming he plays all 22 games left in the season.

For Davis to overtake Harden's current pace of scoring he would need to average 39.3 ppg for the rest of the season. We haven't seen that sort of sustained scoring production since Wilt. The last player to even come close was Kobe when he averaged 35.3ppg. If Harden's scoring dipped down to 28.2 ppg (Davis' current average) for the rest of the season Davis would need to average 36.1 ppg the rest of the season to surpass Harden. I don't see that happening. Harden should win his first scoring title this year if he keep up his current pace of scoring or even if he dips down a little bit.

late in the game Harden was trying to bait Gorbert into a foul by trying to dribble in front of Gobert as Gobert was running back on defense. Then Gobert does foul him just past half court and Harden took exception to that foul and confronted Gorbert and the teams/refs had to separate them.

Rubio, Mitchell, Ingles, LeBron and Gobert. Very good team. Rockets in 6, though.

Rodney Hood was playing a crucial role in them wining a lot of games by coming off the and scoring heavily which actually help free up Mitchell as well.

Too bad Harden doesn't like/love Rubio. And Harden is the defacto decision maker. He brought Cp3 here, he brought Gerald Green here.....

I dont get why some people on here rather face OKC than most teams. Lol I sure dont. Those players can get hot and play up for big games unlike a team like utah that struggles to score.
