Nice to see the Russian poster saying it's "too bad" for an American citizen that Two Scoops could get reelected. It's the first time I've agree with the Russian poster on what would be bad. And in fact, I'm sure we agree that Two Scoops is bad for America. It's just that the Russian poster likes it, and I absolutely hate it, as should all Americans.
Great article that echoes the points I've been making. The left has been very scattered and unfocused, they are shook, which has left them even weaker than they were when they lost. So many people here defended the Clinton's and the DNC's practices towards Bernie but it's under their leadership that the DNC and the Party are at an all time low and all time low in political talent. In her selfish quest to be the first she has left the party in ruin and on the verge of another 4 years of Trump. It's almost laughable that it could happen.
you could be joking but he would be 74 at the start of the 4 year term. too old imo and i wish there were an maximum age restriction like there is a minimum age restriction. a rule change like that could help find and promote future leaders. i think the current 35 min is good and the max should be the election year legal full retirement age minus 4 years to account for the term. i.e. you cannot hold office if you are past legal retirement age when you won the election. for this year that would be 66 and 2 months minus 4 years so 62 and 2 months. Using that formula neither Trump or Hilary would have been eligible which in hindsight I'm sure almost everyone would have been happy about that fact. Obama would fit neatly for both terms and no surprise he was a good president overall. I hope they do what I'm suggesting or something similar in the future. and yes, i know that violates age discrimination laws but this is singularly the most complicated "job" in the world. besides i think you could win in court since it's not a hiring position, it's elected.
honestly i don't think you can survive a trump repeat. for your sake i hope he doesn't run or at least doesn't win but at this point the dems are pushing him toward the finish line.
Lol, I am not sure how much this country could survive Trump but I will be just fine no matter who is president. People like me will do well regardless. It's the people at the lower end of the spectrum who will take the brunt and hurt from his decisions.
sorry to tell you that i come from the lower end of the spectrum and still have family and friends living there. we/they've been facked since forever and it hasn't mattered who's ass was living in that damn white house. if you're curious, it's called "cycle of poverty" and for me personally it did take an outside influence to give me that tiny bit of momentum to bust out.
Well I am glad you busted out but what is true for one isn't true for the masses. I for one want to see people have a fair shake. Because my parents worked really hard in life, I was fortunate to be handed a head-start and unfair advantage in life. So I believe all kids deserve the education and mentorship necessary to succeed. Children don't get to choose what family they are born into, and I do think there is a role for gov't to play in breaking that cycle. That is a big reason why I am a democrat even though personally I benefit more from Republican policy.
