My school superintendent is supportive of students right to free expression, but discourage students walk out (safety being his concern), and is working on alternative methods for expression (whatever that mean, but hopefully something public and productive). Right balance to me.
So why is the punishment different from the punishment of any other first time truancy punishment? They already have policies in place to combat truancy. Why make a special exception out of this particular case of truancy?

Do you really believe he can think for himself? As has been pointed out, he has the attention span of a 5 year old (I apologize to all 5 year olds). He basically regurgitates the talking points of the last people he met with.
