"I've always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem, and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA. I'm a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn't strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best."
It was undeniably really bad. No matter how you spin it, it was terrible lol Sounded soooooo chitty. The pitch was crazy bad regardless of taste.
my daughter is a singer with formal training and has done the national anthem at sporting events dozens of times, she has been watching this all day and agrees it was horrible, both the arrangement and style of the song, but she also thinks the key was too low for Fergie's voice. Really just a train wreck in so many ways.
I didn't see it live, but I've gone back and watched it and it really wasn't bad at all. It's also funny that people are saying Draymond Green was having some kind of reaction standing there with his mouth open like a dumbass. Don't people know that Draymond always has his mouth open looking like a dumbass?
Well well well, I will be one of the few to get flamed for this as well....but WHILE I WAS WONDERING HOW FAR SHE WOULD TAKE THE MARILYN MONROE SEX APPEAL APPROACH TO IT, I STILL LIKED IT THEN AND NOW! It was an artist adding an artistic touch to it. Maybe some find that offensive, but I don't. And I would hit it a million times any time she would be willing, as would most of you.
I didn't think it was that bad, it was a unique take with a different cadence that I'd never heard before and sounded pretty good for most of it. "the braaave" was bad though
saw her live in the mid 2000s, it was a small show with invites only. saw her front and personal... would (already have) fap.
Idk man im pretty open minded when it comes to music. I love experimental, dissonant, and avante garde stuff and i think fergies performance was undeniably bad. Apart from my opinion that it was tacky and unappealing, theres no denying that her pitch was terrible. But I would also argue against this being art
