The Rockets are phasing in more 2 point midrange shots especially near the end of the game when, although 2 pointers aren't as good as 3 pointers in general, they give you a more consistent shot of scoring points than chucking 3's. This is particularly useful when we have leads in close games when we're not trying to maximize points per possession, just trying to make sure we do score points. Having Joe Johnson (not that he will almost ever close games) allows for having another guy who can play PF as well as score from any spot on the floor.
I agree, at the end of the game all scoring opitions need to be considered I like that Paul has made the mid range shot less taboo, we obviously still are set on threes and drives but now it’s not totally shunned and has been used by players and it’s actually helped on key possessions.
I mean he was thrown into a game without any practice where he seemed like he just wanted not to rock the boat. And cost the team nothing in manpower.
he was missing all his J's in pregame warmups too. basically if 1/2 his shots went in last nite everybody would be loving joe. i'm not worried about him at all, that shot will eventually fall. and the play he made with the 10ft push shot in traffic -- adds an entirely new dimension to our offense. it's like having a chess knight that can jump spaces and get inside the defense for alternative attack
I never claimed to know anything? I only state my opinion like everyone else on the board... I didn't think we would sign Joe and I was wrong. Any shots at Cyberx weren’t meant to be personal. It is what it is bruh I’m just glad the Rockets are the best team in the league right now.
I have grown to hate how much MDA loves JJ. Why the **** are we playing him 30 minutes right off the bat ? We are playing him over Luc and Pj now !?!? He shouldn't even be getting minutes over green . Green has been BETTER for us all season . This dude is 36 and sucked this year . He could turn it around ... But why are we giving him important minutes so early for us ? If JJ is gonna get prefference over Luc and PJ then I would have rather not signed him
And just like that, we have our new Corey Brewer. MDA immediately giving a ton of minutes to JJ was sadly predictable.
i like joe but we would not have won a lot of our games during our injury run if not for GG. We need the guy
JJ was supposed to be insurance, but dude's literally getting starter minutes. He BETTER not eat into Ego's minutes when he's back.
