Because then the big bad government will know that you're assembling an arsenal and seize them from you! Then you won't be able to take up arms against the most powerful military force in human history, win a war against their $600 billion budget and 2 million person membership, and reclaim your right to play soldier on the weekends!
Nope, its the common sense obvious thing. as it was 3 months ago, 1 year ago, 3 years ago, 5 years ago, 10 years ago, 15, years ago, 20 years ago... If it was in fact the "emotional" thing, we probably would have had some answers to this problem by now. "Guns aren't the problem, stop being so reactionary!! We're fine with guns... well get this under control, no problem!!" I mean look, I'll give you credit, it might not in any way be a solution, but ffs, shouldn't we try Even the descriptive language you use is so purposefully reactionary, it's moronic. It's called a constitutional amendment. Of which there are many. And oh by the way, there ALREADY are restrictions on what type of lethal weapons you can own, JUST as there are restrictions on other points and amendments in the constitution. This isn't radical at all. The fact that you keep making it seem like it is is stupid. Yes, they are. Dude, stop avoiding the facts. I provided many many links to scientific studies, fact based reviews, etc. showing correlations. America and any developed country should not be compared to San Salvador... ok... AND?? Do you have a solution whereby that sub-group of people is easily identifiable and a managed?? You can keep saying this if you want. I've provided fact based studies to prove you have your head in the sand and are wrong, but I guess you want to be that guy... Yes, agreed. And if the end conclusion on your end is that the 2nd amendment right is just a basic human right and its crazy to think about even altering it any way because that's SO RADICAL, and that guns aren't the problem, people are the problem... as seems to be the case... And that flies in the face of the reality of America clearly having a gun death problem (I mean, you can't really argue this one, it's VERY SIMPLE math)... Then having SIGNIFICANTLY increased security in tons of places is probably a cost that the American populace should have to bear. Especially in schools.
I'm sure the authoritarian crowd might think that it is the "common sense" thing to do, but you guys are fortunately still a tiny minority in this country. People like you is how we got things like the Patriot Act. To you it's just "common sense" to shred the rights of citizens for the illusion of security, that'll never be "common sense" to more libertarian minded people no matter if they lean left or right. Neither country has ever had the culture of gun violence that America has, it's not comparable. I cite facts that completely destroys the propaganda you posted and this is your response? That's hilarious. I just proved to you that violence is a result of culture, not availability of guns and you say "Okay....AND??".....Really? Well that sub group is easily identifiable, they are black people, but I'm not advocating they be "managed", I'm explaining that what needs to change is a rejection of subcultures that glorify violence and there's not much you can do to stop people from being violent until that happens. Prohibition and abstinence simply don't work as a policy no matter how many times you guys push those types of programs. I provided you with the actual facts, you countered with propaganda from special interests.
You're more patient than some of us on here would have been. You've constantly provided ACTUAL facts and proof as to your statements whereas the other person is doing what he does, pretending he has legitimately rebuffed or countered what you've provided and at the same time offers nothing in the way of a solution. Cheers.
Thanks good point. I say go further and ban high capacity magazines as well. Say limit the magazine to 5 rounds
SMH apparently you never bothered to pay attention to George W. "Fool me... you can't get fooled again!" If you didn't know this already, it's an old saying in Tennessee. Shame on the world!
That's a pretty dishonest accounting of what is happening, but I'd expect no different. I'm providing ACTUAL facts and proof, your boy is merely posting propaganda spread by special interest groups. As to solutions, I've provided that as well. Perhaps you should pay more attention.
Why? Is there a large call for that? You do understand that there's a difference between needlessly legalizing things that have been banned for 84 years and needlessly banning things today that have been banned in the past but were legalized again when it was determined that the ban yielded no positive results.
Ok. I’m done. I provide links upon links upon links. You provide you saying stuff. Lol. I’ll take the scientific studies thanks. Sensibly amending first certain rights doesn’t make one an authoritarian. I reject names on the whole. I’m not a this or a that. Just a guy making sense do something horrible. But you go ahead and be completely reluctant to change.
I told you early on that you could continue to provide propaganda from special interest groups and it wouldn't dispute the fact that I posted. Your propaganda ignores facts that debunk their narrative and that's why they are useless. If murder rate was tied to availability of guns, there would be a considerably higher murder rate in Norway and a MUCH lower murder rate in countries like El Salvador. Of course you can't dispute that, so you'll ignore it. When you advocate for the state stripping rights of their citizens, you are an authoritarian. That's just how it goes. You "rejecting" that means about as much as your special interest group propaganda.
What is the need for high capacity rifles, boom stocks and high capacity magazines? What is the need for them in society? Unless you are like one of anti government wack jobs who think they need to defend themselves from the big bad government.
What is the need for sports cars? What is the need for double cheeseburgers? What is the need for derogatory speech? Arguing that someone doesn't have a need for something isn't arguing that they don't or shouldn't have the right to do or have something. I know that's a foreign concept to authoritarian types but try to grasp it. Sure, the NRA puts out their propaganda as well and if someone was using NRA created propaganda to further a cause, bringing that up would be valid. Instead I merely used facts that anyone could independently verify for themselves. No spin, just the raw facts.
I bet I know who you are typing these comments to. My advice is to simply stop. The first and only person I have ever ignored on this site.
bigtexxx' support of the NRA and being against all forms of gun control mean that he is has blood on his hands
Really comparing sport cars, double cheeseburgers and speech to high capacity rifles, boom stocks and high capacity magazines? Why have bans period then? Why have bans on automatic weapons bombs extra. Us authoritarian types are obviously wrong then.. Why do we have laws in society then? .
