Looks like the FBI severely failed on this one. How much more obvious can it get if he made a post and used his real name? They couldn't track him down? Wow!
If we can hold gun maker/distributors/profiteers collectively responsible for the humane, social and medical cost of gun violence, they get serious about how to reduce gun violence.
Yeah, it was a 3k student+ high school. My kids will be zoned to a 2.7k+ high school. It's very large, a myriad of buildings, many many entrances, etc. One armed security guard is useless. As someone who is in favor of as stringent gun control laws as possible - I don't care if they're banned completely - I would still be in favor of adding many more highly trained, armed guards to schools. I don't understand why both can't happen...?
I recall reading that the people that the killer lived with had a gun safe and supposedly required the killer to put his guns in it. But supposedly he had the key, so it didn't do anything to control his access to the guns. So... the school had police officers on campus. The killer bought his guns with the proper process. And even stored the guns in a safe. So more is needed...
reminds me of "officer john" from memorial high school (class of 2000 here). The guy was 1,000 years old. He was an armed officer but just there to get the pot heads. basically useless for that type of stuff. When columbine happened they added two more.
Is there a 2nd amendment equivalent for kids to bear pencil and notebook safely from 2nd amendment harm?
You would never use gun related deaths. You would use homicides. You are being mislead. this is incredibly misleading. Those adducted mentally ill still cant buy guns. Even the ACLU supported trump in getting rid of this overreach.
The relative cost and modular nature of the AR15 is why it's popular. The lethality of it is why it's popular with mass killers. I'm so sick of the gun nuts railing on the nomenclature rather than addressing the problem. Who gives a damn if "the libs" call it an assault rifle? It's a deflection of the issue.
From my Facebook news feed of mostly right wingers, it seems like it's open season on the FBI. I feel so guilty and horrible for asking this but does anyone thinl these sentiments are being pushed because of the recent oucry by the GOP towards the FBI due to the Mueller investigation? I'm just seeing comment after comment about "the FBI failed us" which is odd. Do we want a Minority Report pre-crime system? What powers did the FBI actually have on legally trying to prevent this? People can inform law enforcement of erratic violent tendencies but they can't act upon them untill they are actually suspected of actual criminal activity .
I'm not sure what exactly you're getting at. If I had to guess, you want to exclude suicides. If so... #1 - why? I want to stop gun related suicides as well. Who wouldn't? #2 - the relationship seems to be the same, with America way in the lead, among developed countries
I'm listening to all the gun control advocates head down the AR-15 route again... that is a dead end - any rifle you can use a clip with is just as deadly. Stop focusing on AR-15s and start focusing on mental health legislation/ etc.
"I didn't like him anyways. I only hired him because of his tremendous blond. You're fired!" Fake quote but it's going through donald's head.
Stop being a dunce. If you want to ban semi-automatic rifles, say so. Stop pretending banning assault weapons but not banning semi-automatic rifles is going to do anything. This isn't about how we label weapons but about how uninformed people are on the subject. Your crowd wants to pretend banning assault weapons will do anything. Once AR15's are banned, a person who wants to kill will just walk into their local sports store and pick up a semi-automatic rifle that will shoot the same caliber round and at the same rate of fire and hold the same capacity of ammo. Not to mention this rifle will be cheaper than an AR15. I want better gun control. I dont want to pass meaningless gun laws that accomplish nothing. If you think that is deflection, then so be it. Stop arguing with me for the sake of finding someone to argue with.
That's why I'm all for banning all firearms besides bolt action rifles and muzzle loaders. I'm for it. Doesn't mean there is a current pragmatic realistic approach to having this policy implemented in our current discourse .
Why can't you do both? And then why not talk about banning more than just assault rifles? What's the concern with banning guns? This is the side I never understand?
