Going against the Rockets as a pundit makes sense. As long as the Rockets don't beat the Warriors (a likely bet) they can say they're right. Even if the Rockets are definitively the 2nd best team in the NBA and show that in the playoffs, all the naysayers on Harden, CP3, and D'Antoni would still be "correct" because they still can't make the finals and therefore playoff chokers.

And if the Rockets do beat the Warriors, then they'd just say, "Well the Rockets proved everyone wrong NO ONE saw that coming" which would technically be correct because even the people who like the Rockets would still take Warriors over us.

Please send this script to Harden because he is going rewrite the script and get the scriptwriter fired.

 

Hell I love the Rockets and Harden and I'm even a little concerned about how we'll perform come playoff time.

they fail to realize that in sports, anything can happen. Yes we understand the narrative of overwhelming favorites and underdogs but so many times in sports does a guy who never got it done, finally gets it done.

it's unfair to bring up past failures without mentioning the reasons why it failed.

Drexler didn't win until he teamed up with Hakeem

When you do 24 coverage you have to keep talking. I watch the games and highlights of the rest of the NBA on thier app and I'm better for it. I don't need anybody telling me something that my eyes say different. Who cares? We will never be favorites. That's good. Keeps them humble and hungry. Both CP3 and Harden have big chips on thier shoulders so we keep that feeling for the rest of the season into the playoffs. Then at the championship parade we give the nicest **** you speech to the entire Talking Head division of the sportsworld and go on into summer baseball where we continue our dominance.
