Hakeem was the greatest 20th Century Rocket. Harden is the greatest 21st Century Rocket so far.

Harden is now approaching Hakeem's level the way he toys with the opposition

Hakeem had a prettier game (for me personally) - hard not to idolize him. But Harden is just so [historically] great on the offensive end, better than Hakeem ever was. By a mile.

Wouldn't guarantee it, but safe bet.

There's <FIVE players EVER -- regardless of team -- who've been better than Dream.

Harden plays with rules which are catered to players like him.

He's also mostly a playoff dud.... Hakeem is perhaps the GOAT playoff player ever.

Who had more playoff wins by age 28? I have no idea, just curious. But if what you're saying is true, then Hakeem should be ahead in that department by a mile.

What is the point of this thread? Other than the need for attention.

No it's a stupid thread. The entire point of this thread was to attack James Harden.

Hakeem still had zero rings when he was Harden's age. Rings don't put him ahead of Harden. Not yet anyway.

As a Rocket fan I want Harden to lead them to a title, until he does, STFU with all this BS that the Dream isn't the offensive player Harden is. Let's see Harden do it on the biggest stage (in the finals). Let's see him bring it EVERY game in the playoffs and not disappear (or freakin QUIT like he did against the Spurs).

I get why you're saying these things. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. But you have to be objective. Harden is the superior offensive player, there's no denying it. I think when Harden retires and some time goes by, people will look back to these years and recognize him as either the best Rocket of all time, or certainly up there with Hakeem.

Hakeem led the Rockets as starter to the NBA finals in his second year

Hakeem was disgruntled as eff when he was Harden's age. He asked out. He was faking an injury...yes, he was, tinman. He was done. He found himself spiritually and he matured. Let's not pretend Hakeem at 28 was making you think he was some clutch playoff performer. But they got the right team around him, and he shined. I expect we'll see the same from James Harden.

The original thread that this countered cherry picked Harden stats to say he was better than Michael Jordan
