It's probably VERY VERY VERY possible to still pander to the Asian community without making horrible jerseys. Not that its what they should do... but it's at least a possible middle ground
It is, but not with the limits Nike put on the editions. Look at the Raptors Chinese character jerseys, way cooler with the incorporation of a dragon.
lol this is so stupid. most teams had new designs this year for the city jersey, the rockets were just going to re-use last year's black jersey? so ******* lazy. also if the black jersey was going to be our city jersey, what would have our third uniform been??
Les sold the team, he probably wants to let the new owner choose the branding next year. I'm pretty sure that's why they went the safe route
Chinese jerseys would have been statement. Make no mistake, Rockets were going to have a Chinese jersey. Association - White Icon - Red Statement - Black City - Chinese Association - White Icon - Red Statement - Chinese City - Black
clutch had the sleeves, no more sleeves from nike and they probably didn't want to waste money on wasting time to altering the jersey to make it work

I dont know if we'd have the exact same jerseys, but you may be right in assuming we'd have some variation of those awful late 90s-early 2000s jerseys.
Also Les is a business man, if it was highly profitable to market to the chinese market to drive the value in the franchise, he certainly did that. He bought the Rockets for like 85 million to selling it for 2 billion. F the fans and I'll cash out 2 billion after 20 years also.
I dont think sleeves vs no sleeves would have altered the overall design. lol... very true and hard to argue that. When it comes to business, you gotta do what puts more money back in your pockets/company.
I feel like we should have city jerseys that are white 3/4 on the bottom then purple on top. Chrome arm and neck holes. Neon green outlined blinged numbers.... Mayneeeee HTown hold it downnn
I hate these jerseys with a passion man. It's not the Chinese lettering, it's the colors. The least they could have done was give us red and yellow jerseys, representing the Old Rockets...or something to do with the city. I feel so jealous seeing everyone else's, they are each so varied and some really stand out...and we get our usual boring color scheme but with Chinese on the front. Lame.
