[Star Trek : Discovery] : New Star Trek series coming from CBS

2 parter mid-season finale. It's been consistently good and hope to see more.

The first 9 episodes were a very strong start. Can't wait for January.

 

I'm curious as to how this site is putting up these episodes to watch if these are streaming only. Are they capturing the streams somehow?

 

First 9 episodes were much better than expected, I really expected more garbage like the movie "Kelvin" time line style stories. I've been pleasantly surprised.....

 

Is this worth the watch if im into sci fi? Link to all episodes anyone?

 

Is anyone still watching? It started back up Jan.7. Wasn't really enjoying the second half until last night's episode. I'm hooked again.

 

I didn't know it started again but I liked it quite a lot and will continue to watch it.

 

So, apparently you can just take the free preview period (a week I think) and binge watch the whole thing in the free time (if you have free time). Then, cancel. Some article on a guy who did it and was debating the ethics of doing it but didn't stop him from doing it. He didn't want to watch anything else. I may do this when the season ends. I won't feel guilty.

 

Wow, I like this arc.

Now I have to wait a week.

 

Season finale aired today.

I enjoyed the season a lot more than I thought I would. Until the too convenient ending of the season arc. But, next season could be interesting based on the ending.

 

Why would anyone feel guilty about that? Or unethical?

 

Decent first season. Finale was a bit corny IMO.

I thought each season was going to be a stand alone, have a different cast of characters and set in different parts of the Star Trek timeline?

Yeah...maybe if they had more quality shows?

They probably upped budget for this show as part of the money grab. I don't think they'd pay this much if it were on network.

Yeah, having it self contained makes me think each season will be like this one. Episodic seasons but with different arcs and plot twists within it. If this crew isn't historic, no need to keep everyone around. It's a challenge to create a universe that already exists within a close time range, but it seems like they learned some mistakes of what made Enterprise a waste of time.

If it lasts 4 seasons, maybe some of these loose threads could come together.

Was looking for a Star Trek discovery thread I guess this is it. I have to say it is not bad especially the second season. Can’t wait to see what they do with season 3.

 

Yeah, I binged season 2 when I signed up for Picard.

I enjoyed it, really curious to see where it ends up next season.

My favorite character is Michelle Yeoh's Philippa.....
