I hate to be a broken record, but are people sure they've seen JJ play the last few years??

He's solid for his age, and maybe gives you a good game 30% of the time. His 1.8 apg last year and 1.4 apg this year isn't exactly playmaking... especially since he also gives you 1 turnover a game.

Anybody expecting him to come in and be a meaningfully positive addition getting 20+ mpg is crazy. MAYBE... MAYBE that happens because of fit or something, but you'd be crazy to expect it.

Much better off waiting to see if a Chandler, Illyasova type gets bought our.

 

Exactly you have to force GS to work defensively..... their defense is great against a bunch of one dimensional players, but if they have to close out against guys they know can drive that D ain’t as good.... and their lack of size and toughness gets exposed

People be acting like we are replacing Luc or Tucker with JJ here. Our core rotations are SET. He is coming in for spot minutes like Green.

How does JJ help in this area?

He's like 26th in the league in ISO frequency (Harden and Paul are 1/2 at 31% and 29%) at 14%... but he's below middle of the pack in terms of effectiveness, with his 0.79 points per possession when iso'ing.

Plus the idea of JJ at PF isn't exposing GSW lack of size and toughness. Rather the opposite.

Definitely fine with this. My concern would be that (1) JJ wants more given how much he's played with UTA, and (2) MDA would go to JJ over say Gerald Green... who is actually getting 25 mpg when he plays.

I wouldn't look into the JJ's stats this season too much since he hasn't been happy in Utah all season. Last year he showed up big up for them in clutch situations over and over, including the playoffs. That's where his value will lie, just in case one of our big dogs goes down. Plus his post-up game is badass.

I think a lot you THINK that we think he’s gonna come light it up.... no..

Is he far removed from his suns days? Yes
Is he old now? Yes

But when you’ve been a high end talent in the league that doesn’t just go away..... you’re body just won’t let you do it as long or as consistently as you once did....

But you better believe that he can still do a lot things he use to... just not as often....
He may not blow by anyone anymore but he’s a vet now and knows he doesn’t have to.....

He he make 1 play and maybe 2 shots while he’s on the floor than I see it as a win.....

 

I'm envisioning Joe posting up Steph when he's trying to hide on defense from Cp3 & James.

I was speaking of their defense in general so Idk how you got JJ “specifically” exposes their lack of size and toughness but ok...

But I’m sure you can understand that there is a major difference between closing out on Green/Luc/JJ as opposed to Flyin Ryan right????

 

tony allen should go to okc and be the roberson replacement. he would be an atrocious fit in our offense.

 

The problem is that, if i get what Bobby said, OKC can claim him ahead of us since they have a worse record.
