no theres not someone overseas thats going to be able to come in and immediately contribute to a championship team. theres a reason why theyre over there in the first place. if a guy like chandler comes here, the rotation isn't set. hed play over black for sure and probably alternate nights with nene

thats why buyout candidates are being looked at. guys that are able to contribute now if they actually fit what you're looking for. rockets aren't looking for some 15th man. they have plenty of those in the g league.

The problem is like @BimaThug said in the podcast earlier this week that we only have about $2.7 million before we are going to have to pay the luxury tax and they aren’t going to pay the tax for someone who won’t crack the rotation anyway.

I would like Chandler also but I don’t think he will be bought out.

I don’t think you get that whoever we sign isn’t going to really contribute anyway... just because someone is playing overseas doesn’t mean they are garbage hell if these buyout guys were so good their teams wouldn’t be paying them to leave.

i disagree. as stated above picking up potential guys like maybe a chandler, lopez etc. they would immediately step into the rotation over black and split some time with nene. being bought out has nothing to do with how good they are. teams buy out players bc they are not in their plans for the future as a team. So why waste time hindering players they want to develop

I'm up for Johnson and/or Chandler and I'd take a flyer on Caboclo for a non-rotational role.

This is my choice. Defense, passing, 3s. Perfect 3rd string center

We really don't have time for any more players in our rotation. If a buy out becomes available he will absolutely have to be much better than one of our rotation players to get regular minutes. Even though we are contenders I feel we are pretty low on the list. Some of you guys take for granted the rotation players we have. I'd love to add more to the bench but there is more playing time elsewhere.

No indication that Tyson will be bought out.

We can "afford" it but we'd move into the luxury tax. No chance we are going to go into the luxury tax and start the clock on being a repeater to sign an 11th man.

Sure Tyson Chandler could crack the rotation but there is no reason to believe he will be bought out... other than Chandler there isn’t really anyone out there that would see the floor if we are healthy.

i'll keep throwing out names that aren't going to get bought out, but I wish they would... lol

Derrick Favors... come on Utah, you're not really trying to make the playoffs are you? You need a pick to get the next Donovan Mitchell.

JJ Hickson is the guy I would go for, even though AR is probably a better fit for the current NBA. Hickson is a disciplined player, unlike AR.
