That's fine. All the magic scenarios to get quality backups for total trash or to transform Ryan Anderson into an elite role player were fantasy.

Buyout deadline has always been a lot more likely to produce big gains for a team like the Rockets, but even if nothing happens then we're in good shape.

We've got quality NBA players 10 deep, will get a sufficiently good seed no matter what, and it's relatively pointless for a playoff team to add guys just for the scenario of a major injury to a starter because a starter missing the playoffs is game over 95% of the time with or without depth.

They had to grind it out against a 73-win Warriors team. This year's Warriors aren't the same even with Durant. And they're only gonna get worse next season. I think LeBron has to look at the big picture. The East remains a joke. The Celtics are very good and will improve even more once Hayward returns, but the Cavs can still beat them. And the Raptors as great as they look this season are notorious for underachieving in the playoffs.

If you're LeBron, why go to the Lakers and subject yourself to dealing with the Warriors, Rockets, Spurs, and (soon)T'Wolves every postseason? Why not remain in the East where it's a cakewalk every year?

this current cavs team is not the top team in the east. it really depends on who theyll be able to pick up at the 3rd star in clev. if they get that chance before lebron decides what hes going to do. An early exit in the playoffs is only fitting to end his time in Cleveland

We'll have to see how these pieces fit together. But removing Thomas alone will improve them greatly. I think they're much better positioned to flip the switch come playoff time with their new acquisitions.

I'm not upset that we stood pat. I love this team.

However, I am upset that Cleveland added so many quality pieces and dumped all their bad players without having to trade their Brooklyn pick. They seemed primed for a playoff run that convinces Lebron to stay. They can trade the Brooklyn pick on draft day for more help if Lebron demands it. What looked like a sure dumpster fire looks like an East contender again.

I have been saying this was the most likely case all season long.

We are too good just to trade for flexibility or cap space.

We weren’t moving Ryan unless it was an upgrade to the team.

Everyone else is a vital piece of our rotation and the chemistry is great.

Only true need is a 3rd center to compete as the backup but the buyout market seems a better allocation of our limited assets anyways.

    Glad morey held firm

We'd still beat the Cavs if we met them in the Finals.

Cyberx was the only one who gave us info alluding to an almost 100% deal since Ryan wanted to leave rather sooner than later.

The problem is that it's harder for us to get to the finals than it is for Cleveland. And if Cleveland gets to the finals again, it's that much harder to convince Lebron to leave.

Which is why I think LeBron ain't going anywhere. The Cavs will likely get back to the Finals and he'd be foolish to head West or switch to a younger team in the East like Philly or Milwaukee(he ain't going to Boston).

I like this team a lot but believe we should have traded Troy Williams or one of our younger bigs- although I understand the thinking (such as if we have to lose Tucker or Ariza to bring in a big name or if we trade Capela or lose Nene)

Glad Ryno is here for the year. He can move during the summer.

Ryno should have confidence now and figure how to do anything to produce

This is noncoincidentally the first time Morey has had the “perfectly assembled team” to win the title now.

I get Ariza’s still out but for all intents and purposes, this team will be healthy to compete for a ring when the time comes. Even the 09 Rockets knew they were never going to have McGrady available for the playoffs.

I’m glad Morey has the discipline of not messing up a good thing. Yes this includes keeping Ryno because he really is the best integral cog for this roster. Now he can ball out without worries.
