I guess I'm in the minority but this move looks STUPID to me for Cleveland.

Clarkson can score, but not very efficiently. Can't shoot the 3...nothing special.
Larry Nance is a good energy player, but again, nothing special.

The Lakers WANTED to dump those contracts and the feeling was they'd have to attach assets to move Clarkson. Instead they get a first round pick and whatever value they can get out of IT.

    Mind boggling.

All I can think of is that LeBron is on board with the moves and that they have received some reassurance that he isn't leaving Cleveland.

Do people HONESTLY believe that Luke Walton can handle that kind of pressure as a coach?? It's mind-boggling to me that people don't seem to understand that these guys don't like bouncing around all the time. I mean, look at CP3 and PG13. Both guys are on the last year of their deals, moved teams, and seemingly now are entrenched with their new teams. PG13, for as much as everyone said he was gone to LA, is talking about his brotherhood with Westbrook, and how much he's enjoyed his time there so far. All of a sudden, the prospect of him leaving OKC is very much up in the air. CP3 literally looks like he's having the absolute time of his life playing here with Harden and under MDA. But you continue to ignore what's in front of you, and keep promoting this unfounded fear that CP3 is going to leave because, "C-C-C-CAP SPACE!" in LA.

what do you mean the minority? I haven't seen a single soul that thinks it's a good move for Cleveland.
The usual reactions were calling it stupid and LOLing at Gilbert's face.

This is very poorly written. That's a completely unprotected pick, so the pick is untradeable "after the draft" too, because it would be spent by then. I think Windhorst meant to say they simply can't trade it.

That said, they can technically trade it on draft day, by selecting for another team is a blockbuster draft day deal...like Butler last year.

Cavs just paid the Lakers a 1st round pick to live out a rape fantasy.

LBJ is probably on board with the moves as it betters the team. But I dont see him giving them any reassurances.

You mean majority. I don't see many people praising Cleveland for this move.

youre not the only one, they could have gotten back a lot more from another team not named the Lakers.

Pretty sure you're not in the minority. It helps the Cavs this season for sure compared to hanging onto IT and Frye and that pick. But long-term, this is a terrible move for Cleveland. Unless Clarkson and Nance are such good additions that they help propel Cleveland to another Finals appearance(they won't), the Cavs still seem headed for a 2nd round or ECF defeat and now the Lakers have a much easier time going after LeBron and Paul George.

remember how Dallas freed up cap space for their multiple max contract super stars? Yeah didn't work out for them.

its definitely a possibility with the best friends angle. Paul likes being in LA. My fear is based on the the chance the Rockets under preform in the playoffs.
