NOI did a lot of recruiting in prison, so Malcolm Little having traded heroin along with robbery (what he was convicted for) isn't too surprising. Kind of also chips away at any notion of a government or FBI conspiracy regarding his assassination, just some stone cold killers in that group back then.
Another Quincy Jones interview. http://www.vulture.com/2018/02/quin...?utm_campaign=nym&utm_source=tw&utm_medium=s1
not that they were up there with motowns finest or the wrecking crew, but to say the beatles were "the worst musicians in the world" and that paul was "the worst bassist i ever heard" is just crazy - kind of makes me question the validity of everything else he is saying. i do believe what he said about ringo though - in 1970 he was a raging drunk so im sure he was terrible to work with.
Quote from an article i saw on fox news, “It was the ’70s!,” Jennifer Pryor told TMZ. “Drugs were still good, especially Quaaludes. If you did enough cocaine, you’d f--- a radiator and send it flowers in the morning.”
Naw, he’s right. The Beatles deserve they’re due for thier success, but they’re musicianship had nothing to do with it. It was more songwriting, vocals, and melodies with them.
Lmao at his Beatles comments. Sounds like a bitter old man there. As a whole the Beatles were on the average end of musicianship but Paul in particular was very good at making music out of a lot of instruments. To say he isn’t a good musician is just stupid. He also has some downright awesome bass lines.
And now Fox News... http://www.foxnews.com/entertainmen...ed-ivanka-trump-knows-who-killed-kennedy.html
agree 100%, but that does not mean they were the worst musicians in the world. its just crazy to say that and i think there is some jealousy or sour grapes in that statement of his. paul is one of the greatest, most tastefully musical bassists ever. he wrote some of the most iconic basslines ever. played most of the instruments on his solo albums. dude is a creative and musical genius. i do believe what he said about ringo though...like i said, he was a raging drunk so that story is probably accurate. that being said, ringo was a fantastic drummer and musician. his approach to the drums was a game-changer. nobody is going to mistake him for john bonham or elvin jones, but ill fight with anyone who says he was a lousy drummer. im a drummer, btw. no way were the beatles the worst musicians in the world. not in a world where this happened!
LOL. I'm dying. The selection, cadence and timing of his words is like an all-time great comedian at his peak. And this is in print and somewhat off-the-cuff! Would love to hear his actual delivery.
Feels like QJ is just an old man looking for attention and relevance so he's doing the "tell-all" interviews. If half of what he's saying is true, though, it's still awesome. But calling any band that has George Harrison playing guitar "the worst musicians in the world" pretty much invalidates your argument.
