Seems that instead of those hard to catch MS 13 types, they rather spend time deporting dads, chem teachers and doctors.
Isn't this the type of immigrants Trump want for this country? Highly educated, contributing to society, not living on welfare and law abiding?
His entire motivation for his entire immigration shtick has nothing to do with improving the United States. The motivation is purely to pander to his MAGA following . That's in regards to any policy he ever expresses. He just doesn't care enough about the tangible consequences of his policies as long has he has his MAGA following. He would be a bleeding heart liberal if it got him a rabid following.
How is someone with an advanced degree who has been here 30 years not have at least a green card. Something is missing with the story.
This question gets repeated a lot and is answered multiple times. When you are here undocomented, you cannot apply for a valid green card, visa or residence status. You have to get out and go in line which can take up to ten years in some cases... Sometimes never. This is where you ask yourself: "Am I even willing to do what I ask these people to do?" which is voluntarily kick yourself out of a country where your family, career or education take place and not have a guaranteed shot at returning to resume... Your god damn life. It's important to ask this question to yourself to understand if the request you asking these people to do is within reason and something yourself are willing to do if you were in the same circumstances.
No. Trump and his kind don't want any kind of immigrants. This is why they are proposing to cut legal immigration in half.
They don't want skilled workers. They don't want unskilled workers. They don't want Muslims. They don't want Christians. They don't want dark-skinned folks. They don't want white folks, either. Such is xenophobia. They will make up reasons to not want "those other people" here. They might tolerate having a small number of the "other" as long as these other folks stay out of the way.
and what about the people who stay in line? do you care about their plight while they wait 10 years? why should this guy be rewarding for cutting or skipping the line? all that does is encourage more people to try the same. having said that, i think the system sucks (too long, too expensive, extremely ineffective) but it's the current system whether we like it or not. instead of crying about individual people while at the same time ignoring the thousands in line, perhaps focus, work towards, changing the system that screws both those who use it and those who skip it.
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...-jackson-indianapolis-colts-country-illegally They should have deported this guy instead.
I'm not sure if I understand the takeaway. I don't think asking yourself that question would have any bearing on whether a country would allowed someone to stay illegally or not. However, if you are simply saying don't waste time making unreasonable requests of people, then I guess I can see it. For instance, rather than saying, "why didn't you do this the right way, we're going to have to deport you." Just be more realistic and say, "I understand why you decided to stay, but we're still going to have to deport you." I don't really see what is to be gained, since the net result is still the same. It's definitely less condescending.
Not really because they take 'muh jobs.. Trump and Republicans don't want poor immigrants. They don't want educated, capable immigrants. They don't want immigrants at all but if there are immigrants, they prefer immigrants from Norway.
