I know people are hating on Anderson, but it does beg the question. If the opposing team clamps down on Anderson freeing up Harden and Paul to maneuver then that is just as valuable. The only question is, when they give him space he has to hit those shots consistently.

Anderson is definitely playing well again the last ~3 games or so. But to me his salary will always be 20M or more so you can't pay that much and have a guy seesaw between good and scrub every other game. Or in Anderson's case his slump was like 2 months long of putrid play.

It really doesn't take a lot to "clamp down" on Anderson and a big factor to that is Anderson clamps down on himself.

basketballholic said that was going to be Kerr's strategy against us: leaving Anderson open at 3.

Then he said they'd push him "just a little" outside his comfort zone (the opposite of open 3's) and when I reminded him that his comfort zone is way far out when he's open and hitting, he tried to correct his various errors by saying Ryan couldn't hit from anywhere anyway. As I pointed out to him just yesterday or the day before, leaving Ryan open at 3 (or pushing him out "just a little") is the only way to make him a star for us.

@basketballholic: this is what happens when the Warriors follow the strategy you say they will. Ryan Anderson goes from albatross to plus-39 player. Nice work!

    lol and smh

Fortunately for us it seems that basketballholic is in fact Tyronn Lue.

If Ryno could average 14 pts 8 rebound and go 3 or 4 out of 7 from three a game then the Rockets would be almost unstoppable on offense.

I’m hesitant to get rid of Ryno this season.

Offseason I think he has to go because this summer is our last Real shot to add another big time player while retaining Clint.

But for this season unless you can flip him for PG13 or Lebron just keep him.

He adds value to this team he’s another weapon and I know many don’t want to hear it, But the reality is. If we really are going to beat GS in the wcf this year we need Ryno stretching that team out and hitting 4-5 threes a game in his 25 min.

You can’t just trade Ryno for money purposes this summer and still think we can be as good. As much as ppl
Hate Ryno they can’t be that dumb.

I get it he has a bad contract but he’s not a bad in playabale player. If he was making Eric Gordon money a lot of teams would be calling about him.

He would be perfect for okc, Toronto, Washington, Milwaukee, twolves hell pretty much any team with elite ball handlers. He just gives the stars that much more room to operate.

Okc was the team to watch for but they started playing pretty good ball (although they have lost 3 in a row) I’m sure presti would be crucified if he did it but pg13 for Ryno works and he would be the perfect PF for russ Adams and melo. If they know pg13 is gone I truely think presti would entertain pg13 for Ryno and a unprotected 1st and 2nd round picks it’s not terrible if he knows he’s leaving. Sure it helps a division rival but really houston is a lot better as is and Ryno does fit with what there doing. Give russ a lot more space to
Run pick and roll with Adams with melo and Anderson waiting in opposite sides.

The defense would get worse but the offense would be top 5. Prob be a top 4 seed. Shoot they might actually be better than what they are now as strange as that’s sounds.

Ryno's talented offensively. I know the contract right now seems insane, but at the time we signed him it was his market value and on occasion, like tonight, we are reminded why.

Part of me thinks that Ryno's emergence here is simply a result of touches and opportunities. When he gets off five shots in a game, he is not going to play at his best. Ryno is one of the best shooters on the team, and that shooting has not been given the time to flourish on the court this season. These last few games he's really turned it on and a lot of that is just him getting attempts he wasnt previously.

I am not sure whether we will trade him, but to be honest at this point I am fine either way.

The problem with this mentality is he probably had his best game of the season tonight and had another decent game the other night. We are 51 GAMES into the season. You don't get to call your shots. We tried like hell to trade him this offseason and all during the season. He is so difficult to trade properly (not giving up multiple picks) that you almost have to trade him whenever you get the chance. Maybe he upped his trade value back up a little. I sure hope so. If we are ever getting any of these other star players Ryno always had to go to a 3rd team. Just think we are doing that part of the trade now before we run out of viable options. Do you think LBJ or another player is going to wait around on us like Melo did this summer? I am happy that he has played well the last couple of games. Let's get rid of this anchor. He certainly did well for himself. We have Luc, Tucker, Ariza to rotate through 96 minutes of the 3/4 position. We also have Green to rotate into that 2/3 mix. We would get back other good players in a trade but I think we would all feel better with all of those players getting all of his minutes rather than him. Each of those players are superior and consistent defenders, scorers, and athletic bball players combined with the same minutes and opportunities.

You may be right in saying you may have to trade him (if you are wanting another star before Capela gets his contract) when you have the oppurtunity.

He may be easier to trade this off season though with one less year on his contract. And obviously Morey would be a little more flexible with other GM's giving up assets to trade Anderson away if he were signing Lebron instead of Anthony.

Rockets are open to taking back long term contracts and are not looking to open cap space to acquire Lebron at this time. I think Noel is more than ready for a new start, absolutely no love from Mavs, and he loves D’Antoni and his system.
