Steve Kerr is too young to have watched Michael Jordan play.

Not everyone spends their life on youtube watching 30 year old clips.

Harden is already going left when he “picks up his dribble”.
But don’t worry next season it will be a traveling violation. Then Harden will come up with a 3 step tornado euro move which will outrage Kerr as well.

Harden did travel in the LMA step back 3 play.

He can add a head and shoulders pump fake while taking a quick dribble, while jumping.

Many of Jordan's shots were fadaways more than an actual step back jumper. Difference between stepping a half of step to clear space and jumping back 2-3 feet.

the only way the league can stop Harden is to make his move illegal...so pathetic

This is a very cool video to be reminded of. Crazy how much mid range Jordan took (guessing this was towards the end of his prime), that may be frowned upon today. I never really saw much video of "Air" Jordan, mostly the jump shooting version in later years. Also, that thing where he exaggerates a lean backwards when posting up, only Kobe did this exactly the same and I never really saw other players do this, not sure the reason for it?

After a dribble, side step is allowed before the shoots. Nothing Harden did was not ok. What Kerr said is irrelevant and need not be mentioned again. There is no point quoting what he said because he was wrong

In SO MANY ways, Kobe was a carbon copy of MJ. He completely patterned his game after Michael's out admiration of MJs dominance. Kobe was obsessed with it, he even tried to talk like Michael at one point.

All these nba players took what they could from Jordan. Step back is one of them and its 2 steps

Jordan would never play for the Rockets. Morey took a bottle of Jameson to the head while watching this clip.

Jordan's footwork was impeccable. So is Harden's, but in a different way. He just exploits what the modern NBA allows on offense better than any other player.

Damn, we have threads on this really? I mean post what you want but geesh do we have rabbit ears or what!

It’s the NBA not NCAA so when it comes to steps, travels etc if the refs are going to let’s some of it slide for EVERYONE fine, then whiney b**** Kerr needs to STFU as does everyone else and play ball. NBA has been notorious for this since the early 80s. The fast play, flying dunks, all that was built on the refs letting it go a bit. That kind of play BUILT the league to what it is today and it’s not going to be reffed out now......

Jordan was also a major pioneer of the "fake a guy in the air and unnaturally contort your shooting motion to draw free throws" method which everyone claims to hate Harden for ;) Of course the difference is that the league never cracked down on his tricks. You can always tell who the league darlings are by how they choose to regulate them. Jordan and Shaq routinely bent and violated rules only for the league to pass measures that further enabled them. Harden appears to be in the Wilt Chamberlain class of players the league goes of its way to slow down.
