Well said. On an unemotional level (as if I can tap "unemotion" any time I feel like it), I absolutely agree with you. However, on an "emotional" level, that gut reaction thing, it ticks me off. If those trophies belong to anyone, it should be to the City of Houston, in my humble opinion. Those trophies should remain with the franchise, and the franchise better stay in Houston. As a guy who's father bought season tickets to the Oilers games beginning with their first season (thanks, and I still love you, Dad, and hope you're happy Upstairs, if there's an Upstairs!), I take nothing for granted. I won't lose any sleep over it, though. I worry more about our guys being healthy for the playoffs, and whether Daryl will make a move soon or wait until the off-season.
The greed is real. He probably wants them so his kids can auction them off to a chinese buyer someday.
Goodness gracious, some y'all will b**** about anything The trophies will be back once he dies...or they won't...who gives a ****
Man, he’s probably had the real trophies in his crib since 96’. Pretty sure 99% of us would keep them too. Besides they are supposedly tainted anyways......
Clearly lots of people care. Those trophies are meaningful symbols. Does it really matter in a life and death kind of way? Of course not. It just shows us Alexander's true colors. Selfish. Superiority complex. Bad move on his part.
I never liked Less. He was a huckster. His handling of the Comcrap deal sealed it for me. He absolutely screwed his loyal fans.
Whats the big Russ and deal. The players keep the trophy too. He's the damn owner for crying out loud.
He has 2, 14 pound, sterling silver, gold plated, shaped metal, that alone mean absolutely nothing other than their weight in silver. Regardless of what Les says or thinks, he himself didn't win any championships. He can take those metal objects that mean nothing and do whatever he wants with them. He can shove them up his ass and pleasure himself for all I care.
