it was a joke I was saying NBA was going to make up some bogus rule just to suppress harden and houston
I think it’s more concerning when TNT early into the 1st quarter showed Harden shuffling his feet with no dribbling. I think TNT did that shi!t on purpose. C. Webb played it cool and praised him for great foot work. What I saw is they were trying to point out a travel. Hints Kerr’s comments when James hit the big shot. He doesn’t want those shots hit on his team. You better believe every game Kerr is in the ear of the refs.. during the playoffs saying it’s a travel every time.. I believe Kerr has worked with the master of it in Pop...
Yes it's funky because that's a good dance style to compare it too. But it is 100% legal and Kerr is 100% wrong. The NBA allows you to take two steps after a gather and a player like Harden who practices that move over and over and over is not going to practice it as a travel. He took two steps (one hop) so it's perfectly legal.
I read the rules stated on a little website called NBA.com and it says nothing about moving towards basket in it in the travel section.
Great reference document if you ever need it: http://warriorsillegalscreensblog.blogspot.com/ Props to whoever the anonymous hero is that put this together - and this was in Jan 2016.
Chauncey Billups said it's not a travel. Jalen Rose said every player travels all the time and you can't call that on Harden. Even Michelle Beadle said it was no big deal
Watching it close on this particular play I think he takes three steps without dribbling the ball again.
After he goes between his legs the last time he puts the ball in his left hand then takes a step with his right foot then left foot then his right foot lands again making it three steps without a dribble.
The 2 minute review doesn't apply to every game it appears unfortunately. I wonder what they have to say. http://official.nba.com/2017-18-nba-officiating-last-two-minute-reports/
Side ste after dribble is not a travel. This is so basic or Please have some faith in your super star player. Geese.
The stepback really has evolved tho. When I used to play a lot, you would pound the ball on the jab right before the stepback. Now you pound the ball, then do the jab and step back. To me it seems weird but it appears that the NBA doesn't consider it a travel
Look at the language in that article: "appearing to take a few extra steps" When it wasn't even an egregious travel, if it was even a travel at all, and is the exact same stepback maneuver that every all star guard in the nba does. The campaign has begun. Get ready for the travel calls. That smug prick Kerr knew exactly what he was doing, meant to be a DM my ass
I stand corrected... I did some research on it, and it appears as though Harden is NOT traveling, as long as he doesn't hop and land on the same foot. So if he hops off his right foot, the left foot must be the first foot to touch the ground. Rules: Harden Step Back Examples:
Ref should have motioned for a video review so everyone could take their time to laugh away. I just love Westbrook. The guy is pure entertainment.
As usual the league darling avoid the ire of the league suspensions. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/22302680/steve-kerr-golden-state-warriors-not-punished-tweet If its any other coaches
