[Wash Post]: Democrats’ behavior at the State of the Union was embarrassing

You are right, there have probably been almost 5 times where he's acted presidential. But he doesn't understand how our government works, the roles of cabinet secretaries, departments of our government, the different branches of government, won't read briefings, and regularly abuses his power.

If he truly respected the office, he would be willing to read briefings more than a page even without pictures on them. He would bother to learn the role of the AG in governing. He would learn about the separation of powers between the branches of government. He would appoint qualified people to the job (I realize that people can be qualified for their government jobs even when I disagree with them.).

He hasn't shown enough respect for the office for any of that. He has repeatedly embarrassed our nation, and since he is the leader, he sets the tone.

But like I've pointed out, that's what his supporters have been calling for since before the election. That kind of crap was what they said they liked about the Donald. So it is misguided to now expect everyone else to respect the office when the person who holds the office doesn't respect it.

 

Well congrats to Trump on occasionally acting presidential, maybe we should give him a lollipop every time he acts like an adult?! JFC this is a great example of how far the bar has been lowered for this clown show.

 

So the bar for being 'Presidential' is being able to read a teleprompter. That is literally all he did. In fact compared to previous presidents I have no reason to believe any of those sentences constructed were of his own writing.

Outside of being able to read sentences displayed on a transparent screen, what actions and words of wisdom has come out of his mouth that makes you think "hmm... This guy has the competence to manage the world's largest bureaucracy and command the world's largest military?".
