Think about the last time we won two championships The city of Houston was associated with the state of Texas
Why not both? I'm just happy our All-Time Rockets team is getting more competitive with a puncher's chance at the All-Time Imaginary Championship.
@tinman can you at least spell "judgment" correctly in your avatar? or are you a fake Terminator fan? just correcting you. it's nothing personal.
ITT: People who don't realize how insanely silly it is to compare a Guard and a Center in terms of defensive impact.
Too young to answer this question as I feel I don't know enough about basketball prior to 2007, but I feel Harden is aiming to be the best Rocket in his own way. Top 2 is solidified unless a unexpected and unfortunate trade happens to where most of his career duration isn't with the Rockets. I want him to be here long term, but I have my doubts sometimes. Don't see any other Hakeem threads, but I'll ask it here: In this era of versatility where most players seem like they're play 2-3, sometimes all 5 positions of the court, would Hakeem be able to thrive in this era of versatility? I've read before where Hakeem was quick and nimble enough to play 4, but had the strength and toughness to play at the 5(which we historically place him at) in 90s NBA. Did Hakeem have the range and ball handling skills to play a stretch 4 like Embiid or Draymond in today's NBA? If he did, what prevented him or bigs of his prototype to not be utilized differently?
Go watch Hakeem youtube videos and then come back to let us know if he "has the ability to thrive in this era of 'versatility' That is all....
As much as I love Harden, he has a LONG way to go to move ahead of Hakeem who I think is top 3 GOAT. if Harden moves past him that will be a great thing meaning we will have won multiple championships.
Either. His entire career was one big highlight clip. There has never been a player who meant so much on both ends of the court.
This isn't necessarily true. One could argue that Michael Jordan meant just as much on both ends of the court. People underrate Jordan's defense.
I mean I've seen highlight clips but I don't think it's fair to just go based off solely highlight clips. Living in the moment of someone's career isn't the same as just saying so and so is the best ever(outside of MJ). I'll take the advice though.
One could argue and one would be WRONG!!! Get the hell out of here with this BS. Another one who's clueless on who Hakeem was. People feared going into the paint knowing the big fellow was in there. Jordan was a damn good defensive player but he wasn't Dream (which isn't a crime because nobody was).
