I’m the same way and I believe we will win. I’d honestly prefer to win this year and lose out on lebron rather than lose this year and get lebron next.

I absolutely understand this. I am confident Ryan won’t be here to start next year. I also think he’s here after the deadline.

Looking at our future cap situation and flexibility. This offseason is our last shot at any hypothetical star.

We have birdrights to all expirings and will likely bring back cp3/ariza/capela/mbah but we will absolutely be trying our hardest to make that big move first.

This Is an incredibly important off season and Ryan being moved is a big part of that equation.

Only thing he is good at this season is passing the ball back or to someone else. He averaged 9 points in last year's playoffs. Playoffs are what we should care about. He sucks in the regular season, but really sucks in the playoffs. $20 mil a year should equal more than 9pts a game in the playoffs for someone that is really just there to score.

He sucked during one series. He was good for half the Spurs series, which is on par with all the other players on that series.

    Yes he absolutely sucks.

He has been atrocious this season even if he was playing for free.

His salary cap hit makes him noxious.

I don't understand how anyone that cares for Houston Rockets basketball can defend this guy anymore.

Just saying - as a floor spacer, it works. Isn't working well now, but has in the past. But the system has moved past him.

he let the trade rumors getting to his head and he's absolutely trash right now for the most part. if we can't trade him by the deadline, I hope he at least brings his game back to where he was performing when CP3 came back. He was worth almost his contract if he played like that

I’d be shocked if Morey is able to deal Ryno this deadline...I’ve accepted that and now hope that he can get his mind right and stop playing scared and with no confidence

there is no excuse for him to be passing up shots...Ryno is the type of dude that remembers all of his misses and lets it affect his aggressiveness...shooters need to have no conscience

If he isnt traded he needs to go to the bench.

The only person I can see us getting in return that would be more negatives than positives is a trade for Kevin Love, and the Cavs wouldn't do that unless LeBron made an indication of him moving this summer in the off season. All Ryan has to do is what he's good at, which is spot up and shoot the 3 ball. If he doesn't get traded by the deadline, expect his numbers (and his confidence) to go slightly up.

We've always had an issue at the PF ever since I've been following basketball more avidly (2002ish) so there's no surprise we still continue to have these problems with consistent production..

Definitely Morey's worst contract. If he want being paid like he is, he would be out of the rotation all together. I'd much prefer Tucker start at PF, and Ryan come off the bench, but that would even further negate his trade value. If he really is in fact color blind to red, his contract almost becomes negligent. Wish the Kings got him, would have been a typical signing for them.

We had to give the Lakers a first to absorb the contracts of Brewer and Ennis, we would certainly have to do the same for Ryan. Maybe we could parlay a first from another team in a 3 way deal, but I don't see how that's realistic without gutting this teams talent in the process. The Knicks wanted either Capela or Gordon along with Ryan before the season started, andand balked. How has any of that changed come February? I don't believe it has, I hope I'm wrong.

Would not surprise me after Artest told everyone he has an account & DMo kept diverting from it when I asked him multiple times ;)

He averaged 9 points and 28% from three averaging 30 mins a game for the playoffs for $20 million a year.

    He does suck.

His only job is to make threes.

it is working NOW, what is not working well is only your thinking about how things work, rockets are winning and hes shooting 41% on 3s last 5 games

and he was one of the keys to beating warriors

hes also helping us win games with his effort rebounds defense and team-first orientation
all the rockets fans adore pop and admire him for getting results out of nonames playing team basketball yet they so easily dismiss rhynos popesque contributions, want him to only hit 3s and are going crazy if he is not hitting 3s at 50% clip

its not his only job to shot 3s...educate yourself...he allowed that 60 pts performance by harden and if it wasn't for rhyno harden wouldn't have made history because rhyno assisted him on many offensive possesions indirectly

To your first point, that is the perfect example of twisting numbers to server your own perverse agenda. Why not also point out that he shot 40% or better on 5 or more attempts for 3 games in the series against the Spurs? That's elite shooting right there, but you would never acknowledge that because it doesn't fit into this false agenda you and your ilk keep trying to push forward with.

As far as your 2nd point goes, he does not suck. That is completely wrong in every sense of that word. While there are some games he has been terrible, there have also been games where he has been great, especially early in the season. The proper word your hyperbolic mind is struggling to accept or even comprehend is "mediocre". This season, Ryno has been very mediocre. Not good, not sucky, but mediocre.

Lastly, the ignorance of this statement would be mind boggling if there wasn't already so much stupidity in this thread. That's the only thing he does for scoring in our offense. He is still counted on to do other things, such as set screens to free up Harden with easy matchups, being in the right pass for Harden to throw the ball to when Harden notices his defender drifting in his peripheral, to provide spacing so Harden has the luxury of playing one-on-one in a half court set, put a body on an opposing PF for more than half the game, etc.

This I agree with. Shooters slump and the only way to break it is to keep shooting. He needs to re-discover his balls and start shooting without hesitation again. I don't give a damn if he misses or not or even if he gets blocked, I just want him to let it fly. The absolute LAST thing I want to see from him right now is pump faking or passing it when being closed out by tiny PG's.
