It is a good theory and I see your logic to it to "control the narrative."

But more than likely this "report" is more driven from LBJ's people to tell the Cavs "get me more help or else" type of thing.

Ultimately, LBJ does not want to leave Cleveland. He will do anything he can to stay but he needs "reasons." They are basically doing all the can to push him out the door with their malaise.

 

Apparently, it's coming from the GSW camp not the LeBron camp. Which in essence they may be doing him a favor... based on your theory of course.

 

Makes NO SENSE that the GSW camp would put out a story that INCLUDES their own players being traded away in Thompson and Iggy. Why rock their own boat?

 

It would make sense for them to put out a feeler and for the media personnel, with the source that tipped them off, to put all the other pieces that would need to fall in place to do so on their own inclinations.

 

They don't need to put out a feeler "publicly." They can use "back channels" for that.
