also take note that whenever he played against GSW, he toyed with Green who couldn't guard him.

    Doesnt fit

He is a decent post up player, but thats it.

Not a good rebounder, has no elavation, cant shoot the three. He is a poor mans Nene

Interesting take. I haven't watched him go against Green. Maybe I'm underestimating him.

I just don't see the Rockets as needing an offensive center. I'd certainly take him over Black but I think the Rockets will be a top location for buyouts and should find someone who really impacts their needs.

Monroe and CP3 mixed it up in their last game, if I recall correctly. Doesn't sound like State Farm material.

I dont know about that, but Monroe would be almost a perfect fit in Houston.
The reason he didn't work in Mil was a) KIDD and his idiotic scheme and 2) lack of shooters.
He needs a double to be guarded by most Cs and because he's an excellent passer he can easily pass out to the wide open shooters or to cutters.
He can also shoot the midrange.
Also he will be very very motivated to play well for his next contract.
If I were Monroe I would either go to Houston or Boston. Houston is a better fit but there's a significant $ diference from what I understand.

Significant money difference and guarantee of playing time.

This. He would be a solid pickup for Houston in terms of big depth over Black, but considering Houston is going smaller and smaller, he probably isn't going to get THAT much run if he comes here unless Capela or Nene get hurt which isn't a terrible bet, but Boston's playing time seems a lot more clear cut than Houston's.

It was only two years ago that Milwaukee seemed to be the only team apart from the Cavs that could trouble the Warriors.

Monroe was schooling Green down low in the post, Green couldn't stop him.

(which is why I had hopes for D-Mo)

Monroe is a better low post option then anyone currently on our roster. During the play-offs that gives us another weapon and if he keeps shooting at a 62% clip, another way to free up 3pt shooters. He's a decent rebounder, but a below average defender. Stats show he's NEVER taken a 3pt shot, which seems strange. Unless DM has something bigger up his sleeve, GM would be a nice pick-up for 2nd half and playoffs.

Monroe will soak up all the backup 5 minutes in Boston, get paid more and have a good shot at getting to the Finals. No reason for him to look elsewhere.

Doubtful .... what's in it for them ?!

Just clearing the decks of a guy who isn't in their future.

They could take on salary .... but they would want something in return - draft pick (Rockets cant oblige) or young talent .

Yeah I was just kidding. Teams that are at the bottom tend to buy out guys at this time prior to deadline
as a means of accepting a trade by clearing a roster spot or two.....mainly for picks and unwanted players.

OKC would be the same problem in terms of money + playtime as Houston.

Boston seems most likely, maybe Cleveland?

Worst case scenario he could go to Golden State..

If Celtics want him they will probably get him because they can offer the their disabled player exception from the Hayward injury which is $8.4 million.
