I've heard of celebs doing worse than being rushed past a bunch of kids. Those awards shows are crazy busy.

    I prefer Cardi O!:D

But seriously, the best new music is electronic. You have to dig a bit to find good artists/tracks but they are out there.

I know many of you will hear "electronic" and you mind goes to BOOM BOOM BOOM techno but there is a vast variety of styles which could appeal to anyone.

Check out Chrome Sparks for example, one of my favorites.

I have been doing some self-reflection on this. Asking myself, am I basically becoming my parents? Who I thought were so uncool for not loving the music of my youth. Have I been around so long and advanced in age enough to the point where I can no longer identify with the modern day evolution of music? Am I simply no longer cool?

And after meditating on this a bit, I've come to the conclusion that...no, music just really sucks these days, and millenials should feel embarrassed.

A lot of great/innovative music is being made right now especially in the fields of jazz as well as modern classical music. No one seems to notice that though... I would agree Cardi B is not very good, but I would suggest just not listening to this garbage and maybe changing your mindset if possible. If we always look at music's function exclusively as escapism, we will believe that these artists speak for the music of this generation when in reality you can just ignore them completely if you choose. This is actually a pretty exciting time in the field of music overall. What I find ironic is that the only institutionalized forms of music aren't even factored in when considering "genres".

You old heads are always getting on millennials. Ok, the mumble mouth rappers are garbage, I’ll give u that, but I’m sure there was a lot of garbage rap back in the old days too.

Going to the Maxim Superbowl party with Post Malone, Cardi B and Marshmellow.

Should be a good show. She's pretty trashy but girls seem to love her music.

Rap music now is extremely mainstream. Cardi B is an example , she is at the Grammy's with Bruno Mars. She is doing Amazon commercials.
Because of the main stream popularity of rap, most artists are wealthy and sing about the wealth, not the struggle.
On top of that, the use of technology has made them lazier, autotuning, anyone can make a track on a MacBook.

It's impossible for you to understand, you will when you are actually old. We pioneered the reality show with real world, then idea of every random person with zero talent who likes to get drunk and party became a sensation. technology has allowed them to do this.
Even the pop singers are made from reality shows.

You think these guys would ever be in a commercial like Cardi B?

There was also a message for each song, it wasn't just random stuff with a beat

The reason for Cardi B is because hip hop is mainstream and played in strip clubs. Cardi B is a former stripper.
Now the strippers are the rappers.
Where did that come from? from our generation.

The rap groups were a little more raw. not super produced like Migos.
