I'm getting tired of Harden's And 1s not counting.

The difference is those guys got free throws by being angry athletes where harden is perceived as being a foul drawing scientist. He legit gets fouled but they are on plays where that is the outcome he is trying to create. That outrages these salty fools

I think you have a point, but it appears to me that he doesn't do it nearly as much as he used to. And his b****ing about non-calls also seems to have lessened, even when he's in the right. Last night he got absolutely hammered on a drive at 107-107 (I think?) and didn't react at all.

The officials have swallowed their whistles with regard to James this season, but I think it's simply been an overreaction on the part of the league office to the tired media narratives about ugly basketball (should this go in the media conspiracy thread too?). I think the league will take a look in the off-season and realize they erred too much on the side of game flow in letting some of these fouls go by the wayside, and hopefully the officiating will become more balanced next year.

And I agree with the posters who said that James will be a better player for having gone through this.

What I find funny is poster child (Chris Paul) gets continuation calls, gets away with push offs, etc. and Harden does not. Believe me, I am not complaining about this since Paul is a Rocket and it evens out refs bias toward Harden. But why call players differently? Call it like you see it instead of intentionally targeting certain players. Now, I could give 2 ***** if Speights doesn't get the call but the stars in the league need to be called the same whether it is Paul, Harden, Curry, Durant, Lebron, etc. Be consistent.

*EVERYONE IN THE NBA* is trying to sell contact
    So . . . that's not the point

The piont is . . . EVERYONE EXCEPT HARDEN gets those calls
    9 times out of 10

He really has been treated unfairly with the continuation calls. And nothing pisses me off more than when people insinuate he brought it on himself with his style of play last year. He played within the rules. That’s basically admitting that he’s so good that they had to change the rules to slow him down.

The NBA makes rules to help some people (Jordon)
    and
Makes rules to hinder others (Hakeem)

that's not exactly something new to the league. We can all wish the game was called that consistently but its not. bigs gets reffed differently than guards and vice versa. stars get called differently than lower tier players

so opponents never really foul him but the refs still call it?

how many times exactly has harden been caught flopping these last 2 years?

LOL NBA & refs are not biased against Harden

They f*kin spent a whole summer changing the rules and named it after him!

the hooking of the arm move he started didn't exactly help now that the league came up with the rules to counter it

Looks like Greek Freak is leading the league in FT attempts. Albeit by 2 but still.

IMO there's a huge difference when a big catches the ball in the paint and throwing up a baby hook/etc and Harden driving to the basket from the 3pt line. I don't think comparing his fta to players who take more shots at the rim than him is fair.

the continuation rule was just plain dumb. theres way too much inconsistency in that. hopefully they go back to what its been for years and years next year.

exactly. harden is too good to be doing that anyway. he doesn't need to. he can own any defender in the league while playing straight up basketball.

Harden Rule 2 coming next summer: The Player cannot Side Step or Back Step - this will now be a Traveling call

Other Rule: A Foul behind the play will be the same foul as a Clear Path Foul rule
(Gonna become like Soccer or something)

I'm actually fine with it as long as they're consistent in calling it and for all players. I've seen opposing coaches pissed it's not called for their players. As long as it gets called both ways, it's just part of the game. Harden's good enough to adjust to it and can still clearly dominate as a leading MVP candidate.

the thing is they specifically changed the rule because harden scores too much and1s

they just blatanly had bias in making the rules to reduce harden's and1s

so they're also blatantly having bias in implementing rules to reduce harden's and1s

even the refs get so confused now. the same move/fouls on harden & other players are not made because behind the refs heads they need to control harden's and1s whether its the rule or not and and up doing or not doing the same to others
