The main point is to draw the opposing PF to the perimeter so he cannot help when Harden ISO's or runs a PnR with Capela. If Anderson is parked right at the perimeter, his man can slack to about the elbow. This only works however, if Anderson is willing to let it fly no matter what like Ego does.

 

Bulls are the most realistic landing spot for Anderson imo, they have the cap room

Yeah exactly. The Ryan Anderson fan club always act like his spacing is so godly he doesn't even need to shoot to be effective which is just BS. Even Harden needs to shoot to be effective suddenly a role player like Anderson can just chill on the sideline without doing anything and lead us to wins?

The reality is opponent teams aren't dumb, they have a team of people whose task is specifically to study opposing players. It only takes a few minutes of research to realize Anderson won't shoot unless nobody is totally away from him, they can just ignore him and focus on other guys like Harden and Cp3 because as long as anybody is within sneezing distance he won't take a shot.

This is the reason we lost to the Spurs, people kept saying the Spurs figured out the Rox but the reality is they just ignored Anderson and made life hell for Harden and the rest. Since Anderson can't make them pay since he won't/can't shoot, it was effectively 4v5 on offense and also 4v5 on defense cuz Anderson is a horrible defensive player. If we had a consistent 3 pt threat who wouldn't be afraid to pull the trigger then the series would've ended differently.
