A team cannot reacquire a player it traded away during the same season (a season for this purpose being defined as starting on the first day of the regular season and ending on the last day of the Finals). If the player was traded between seasons (i.e., from the first day after the Finals to the last day prior to the start of the next regular season), it cannot reacquire the player prior to the end of the next season. If he is waived by his new team, then he cannot re-sign with his original team until the one-year anniversary of the trade, or until the July 1 following the end of his contract, whichever comes first. However, if a team trades a player's draft rights, it can reacquire the player during the same season. http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q101
Insert jlawrence yeah ok gif here. Adding him means a making the rockets target for opposing opponents to hack a jordan. No more 7sol or bang here and there 3 pointers. It will be truly our achilles heel. We cant run as one.
DeAndre isn't a back up. He's a better defensive player than Capela. I say we stay the course and if anything rest Nene a little bit more. Remember how clutch he was for us last post season? Keep the big dog rested, unleash him in the playoffs.
Upgrading backup center is not a top priority, IMO. People forget how good Nene is and how much he stepped up in the playoffs last year. If he's healthy come playoff time (which he should be given how much rest he's getting), he's one of the best backup centers in the NBA and a huge asset to have. Jordan is also not worth the assets it will take to get him because there aren't enough minutes to go around at center on this team. I like him as a player, but the Rockets have arguably a better version of him in Clint. Now I will agree that the Rockets could use another big, but I'd much rather them add a guy who could stretch the floor and play a little of both the 4 and 5. Lopez was mentioned by cyberx, but Mo Speights is another guy who comes to mind. A guy like that would give the Rockets so much more flexibility with their front court.
Higher chances of him landing in Cleveland, New York or a lesser team like say a Phoenix or could see New Orleans make a move. Yall can end those Deandre to Houston wishes.
there will be no DJ trade to Houston without Capela being sent to LAC...it’s time for people to stop with these unrealistic scenarios
That's what people thought would happen with funneling everything towards Dwight but our defense was barely average. Also, have you seen some of the players that try to post or power drive through Gordon? Gordon's thiccness helps with the switch everything strategy to an extent. It makes up for his lack of height in some cases.
1) We can't trade for Sweet Lou 2) We can't trade for Harrell 3) THERE IS A RANDOM TRADE THREAD THAT THIS BELONGS IN!!
Ummm yeah.... no. The Clippers can care less about a players “feelings”. They’re always gonna do what’s best for the Clippers.
You'd seriously want to blow up our bench with the year we're having just to play Lebron lottery? Good luck trying to sell that one.
Maybe, but it's really, really, really BAD food. Like, Chinese-lunch-buffet-at-3:30-in-the-afternoon bad. Right, because Morey scours ClutchFans to find his next move. Actually, there's a very big question whether it does. Especially if we give up Gordon in the process, because that puts us one CP3 injury away from having NO viable second-team PG. Gotcha. All geeks have soft hearts. That explains why that touchy-feely Ballmer signed off on trading Blake Griffin to Detroit after calling him a "Clipper for life" a few months ago. "Apologies for starting a stupid thread, everyone! I forgot our GM isn't interested in winning a title this year!" BZZT! Wrong. Jordan ISN'T a free agent after this season. He has a player option for next year at $24M. He'll only decline that option if some team is stupid enough to give him a new long-term contract making MORE than that. Yeah, Daryl, since you obviously have nothing better to do right now than read fan trade ideas on CF, please stop being such a wimp who's afraid to pull the trigger on deals! Such a non-dealing coward! Apart from that, OP, this was a great thread idea! I'm sure DeAndre Jordan would be all-in on the idea of backing up Clint Capela.
