He has a ponytail. I mentioned Luis as a possibility not that long ago. The guy can still play, in my opinion. Not like a few years ago, but he was never the quickest guy on the court anyway. Just very effective. He's a great locker room presence, and I think he would be excellent end of the bench depth, if we have room for him when the Chinese season ends. At this point in his career, I think he'd like to go out a winner in the only league that really matters, the NBA. He may not be a big difference maker these days, but I'd like to see him in a Rockets uniform again. I doubt that it will play out that way, but there's no telling what Morey will do. If he makes a move around the deadline that opens up a couple of roster spots, there may be room for Luis down the line. He's probably drooling at the thought of getting passes from Paul and Harden. That's if he's thinking of us at all. Very slim chance, in my opinion.
I thought about it as a serious possibility last year too and he just so happened to have been bought out days after. I'd like him back but doubt the front office is in serious consideration to sign him.
I doubt if he's being considered as well, but I've been a fan of the guy for a long time. I'd like to see him get a ring. He's won pretty much everything else internationally.
First Rockets jersey I ever purchased and I proudly still wear it. Would be awesome to have him back but yeah Side note what is it about Argentinians and their longevity playing pro basketball. Luis Scola has technically been a pro since what 2001? Didnt sign with the Rockets til 2007. Same with Manu obviously and Andres Nocioni and Carlos Delfino had some pretty lengthy careers.
Good question. Maybe it was something in the water growing up? That generation of Argentine players was/is amazing. I'm jealous of the jersey. I never managed to get one.
He's playing in the Chinese league and starting, shooting 54%, hits the 3 at a 36% clip, and is averaging 14 boards a game in 32 games. Not too shabby. If he's done, he doesn't know it.
I didn’t search on Wikipedia I thought he retired that’s what I meant by done. But if he’s still playing then great! Good for him
Okay LeBron is immuned to aging. Talent or not age gets us all. FYI the whole fruit salad rots with time no matter how well it tastes => Apples & oranges both By the time we are done paying LeBron he will be the same age as Scola is now. That was my intention of the comparison.
All joking aside, Brandon Jennings wants to make a comeback to the NBA. 3rd ball hogger, er handler for the Rockets?
