We all know how stubborn Dantoni is with his “strict” rotations with a healthy squad, but will coach let Gerald Green play at all in the playoffs even if Ariza and Luc are healthy?

Why would a shaky and unstable player like Gerald Green get minutes in the playoffs unless it's a blowout?

Does the OP even realize this guy was unemployed before the Rockets signed him? Whatever the Rockets get from Green is found money. He was a great pickup when Luc was injured and will probably get some time during Ariza's absence (however long it is).

But when the post-season starts and opponents begin playing defense, Green scares me. Rockets can't afford to have a guy out of sync with the rest of the team on both ends of the floor. He's completely clueless on defense and teams will abuse him. On offense, the only two things he understands are: (1) I'm gonna shoot a 3 no matter what and (2) I'm gonna give the ball up and not get in trouble. Seems like he makes the decision BEFORE getting the ball.

Their 3-point shooting percentage this season isn't that different. Why have a poll question of Green's offense vs' Ariza's defense when Ariza is better on both ends when you count everything?

Lastly: Gerald Green is a 32 year-old yo yo who's learned very little since being drafted. Trevor Ariza is a 32 year-old savvy veteran that fits the Rockets perfectly.

This thread is another example of why the GARM is garbage.

Defense even though Trevor’s defense has slipped but it’s still great. We are a loaded offensive team but defensively we have deficiencies so without Trevor it gets worse

It's funny when some people thinks that they can do better than what MDA is doing right now.

Right now even trevors offense is better than ryno

And greens hot offense was just a fluke

Over all offensively and especially defensively ariza is better and should start

You can make a case or lmm starting in ryans place though. And green backing up ariza.

lol, Ariza is a lot more valuable than Green on the court...anyone who actually thinks otherwise is being foolish

Green was hot from 3 earlier so now we have people on here overrating tf out of him. Ariza vs. Green isn’t even a discussion.

    Great to have both.

Problem is really in the rotation. Really. I don´t know why the heck MDA can´t play 9 or 10 players. Ariza is still getting 33 a game. Cut him to to 28 on trash games, at least!!

We need a 3 and D player with Harden and CP3 because we have plenty of offense. When Harden rests, we need a guy like Green who can take the load off of CP3 because CP3 would rather pass than shoot.

We have plenty of 3 and D guys like ariza, Tucker and luc that can’t drive and finish strong at the rim.

Green is the only one that can BOTH, shoot and drive to the rim. He’s fits perfectly in this offense.

People here overrate ariza’s defense and underrate greens defense.

We all know ariza can’t do the things green can do offensively.

green isn't even that great offensively just stop. talking about overrating ariza, when you're without question doing it to green. underrating his defense ok. i guess you fail to notice the foul rate he picks up in the game

If you talk about JANUARY, then yeah, I could agree he in average plays 9.
Even so, too many "eight´s", and "ten´s" only in exceptional cases like injuries or Ryno sucking.

You’re overrating arizas defense. He’s not that good. Luc did a great job starting against the Warriors and he can actually drive to basket, unlike ariza.

I’m not saying green is a great player, I’m just saying he fits great in this system. Especially with all the great spacing guys like ariza and ryno aren’t taking advantage of due to their inability to get to the rim and lack of athleticism.

That would make harden and Paul’s job a whole lot easier. And maybe they wouldn’t get injured as often.
