No one knew Marc was going to be good. He was practically a throw in. The kerfuffle wasn't baseless, even Popovich came out against it "What they did in Memphis is beyond comprehension. There should be a trade committee that can scratch all trades that make no sense. I just wish I had been on a trade committee that oversees NBA trades. I would have voted no to that L.A. trade."
I agree, but in the end what happened? Popular opinion, which I disagree with, is they got fair value. They got 3 finals appearances, two rings. Ain't nothing fair about that, but they did get Marc. A fringe all star, so hindsight has them good. SIL
