Not really. I think it's just overlayed to show that personal income varies inversely with corporate profit - which isn't that big of an insight since labor cost is the prime expense of businesses.

You continue to ignore the fact that 1000 dollar bonuses are just the tip of what’s coming down. Those companies are also announcing wage increases, more jobs etc... you conveniently ignore that.

And to act like a 1000 dollars is crumbs is just ridiculous. That’s a week and a half of pay to someone making 40 grand a year. For someone living pay check to pay check that is a windfall.

The real value of the new tax rate was never going to be a one time bonus but you but more jobs at higher pay and increasing the size of the middle class. Do you really think Apple would be repatriating 200 billion dollars if the corporate tax rate continued to be the highest in the industrialized world? Once Apple builds its new campus in either Austin or Dallas (my prediction) and hires 20000 new US employees it will be because of the new corporate tax rate of 21%.

Apple was planning on doing all of that anyway, Tim Cook said as much.

Fact is that $1,000 "windfall" could have come much cheaper by cutting his taxes, not the rich and putting us in a 1.5 trillion dollar hole. 95% of the 1.5 trillion dollars goes to the rich with 5% trickling down to guys like this. And you say that's good?

I don't doubt that to those at a certain spot the economic ladder like yourself 1000 bucks seems like a lot.

Of course, for $1.5 trillion, the government could have cut a check to every man woman and child in the US for about $4000. Instead it went to a comparatively few very rich people, many of whom are not even people or even American.

Unfortunately think back to your health care misadventures - does $1000 seem like a lot then? Does $4000?

Enjoy your bonus. I suggest IKEA.

    1. That is not what Tim sad and you know it.

    2. Taxes were cut for virtually every individual.

    3. Were you this worried about the debt when the Affordable Health Care act was passed or are you only upset because this is a “Republican” tax plan?

    4. Unlike you I don’t have this il placed animosity towards the rich. The tax plan helps everyone and increases the middle class by helping the poor and not hurting the rich. This is how it should be.

Why do you hate lower income people so much? Weird.

There is no better expression of hatred for the lower echelons like yourself than the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017.

If you think 1000 - 2000 dollar bonuses, wage increases and more jobs are expressions of hate as opposed to the “get nothing and like it” that you are championing, then you have a very sadistic view of love and hate.

Working stiff schmoes who go to the mat for tax cuts for billionaires, at their own expense, with "thank you sir may I have another" are the definition of Masochism.

Have fun cleaning Tim Cooks toilet.. which otherwise wouldn't have let you clean..

Partisan hypocrisy never ceases to amaze me. You cornholes use words like crumbs to describe 1000+ dollar bonuses, wage increases and more jobs when the left was acting like an extra 40 bucks a paycheck was a lifestyle chang just a few years ago.

That’s ok, I much prefer the high tech jobs with good pay, bonuses and profit sharing that are being made available due to the tax cuts.

My payroll check on the 31st will have the new tax bracket in effect. I'm looking at a net $115 increase monthly, single no dependents.

Yes he said they would give more to charity because of the tax cut. Yes, it will result in more jobs, but a trickle compared to what will be lost if gov't spending is reduced to contain the debt created from this

And I have always advocated finding ways to reduce the debt DURING GROWTH PERIODS! Clinton handed Bush a huge surplus which he squandered. The debt is in large part to reckless management during those 8 years and a failure to address entitlement programs. AHC actually is a net positive when you consider the lower premiums it resulted in for everyone over time as you had less emergency care visits.

Reality is you don't know the truth.

This is going way over your head.

No one is arguing extra money in the pockets of the working class is a bad thing.

What you seem to be missing is it is going to cost 15 trillion dollars over 10 years.

With that kind of investment you could wipe out student debt or completely revamp the healthcare system, things the working class could benefit much more from.

And your health insurance premiums will likely quickly rise to erase that. Oh, and wait until you do your taxes next year with less deductions and so you owe more. Oh, and hope you don't borrow money because you'll pay a higher interest rate now.

Wrong on almost all accounts. My insurance premiums will go up $10 a month, I will have more deductions next year. I don't need to borrow money, I'm not poor nor in need of money.

You will have more deductions? So you are saying you rent then?

Lots of well off people "borrow" money. Mortgages, car leases - you don't get those things if you are poor. But if you don't have those things and you are worried about $110 a month, you definitely aren't doing all that well.

I do rent yes, I don't think Houston is where I will call home permanently. That a decision to be made within the next 3 years.

You may benefit in the short term, but the long-term, this deal will hurt you.
