Look , I don't blame MDA for the rotation that game at all . Read my post on the first page . I just doubt he will go out of his way to find mins for green . I'm pretty sure he will play him when other rotation players are out ... But im not completely sure about that . We've had games this year where Mike has chose to ride 7 guys and play 1 guy like 5 minutes. He seems to not even have guys play much garbage time . We can be up 20 and he will make the starters hold that lead until the 3 minute mark ... And if it falls to 15 then they are in the rest of the way. I get your rationale , I understand how logical it is. But all the evidence and history points to Mike erring on the side of playing fewer players .
i really hope stubborn ass pringles doesn't bury green on the bench for a while now. you never know when you'll need his production again, so getting him even a few minutes every other game would at least keep him sharp still getting reps. same goes for tarik. we saw how much better he got as his playing time increased with nene out.
Yep mda needs to learn how to adjust. If the opponents bring in their 9th 10th men he should match up with green n black. If one of our guys not playing 100% hard on offense or defense, bring in green or black. The more the minutes of a player the less efficient he plays.
The whole rotation would benefit from accountability like this. Side note: Cut back minutes from the all-timers to save them for the play offs and from themselves.
yup MDA always talk about playing harder and with energy and efficiency you achieve that not by running players to the ground but by playing a deep rotation as much as possible and lessens player's minutes that way whenever they're on the court they'll be fresh and efficient and the more players are played consistently the more options/weapons if someone is not being effective offensively or defensively and they'll be ready to step up whenever someone gets injured or needs to sit games and rest
It was a close game guys, so MDA playing 9 man rotation in such a tight situation should be a reason for celebration rather than frustration. Double digit lead games should expand that rotation even beyond 10, be patient. Green appreciates the love but it's not worth getting your blood pressure up. Changes are coming and wins will continue to pile. Let's enjoy the ride!
Ryno was an on/off beast last year. This year, the Rockets are outscored by 10/100 possessions when he takes the floor. Ugh.
It is a bad thing because as you seen before when people get injured the guys on the bench are clueless. Keeping Green in the rotation will be a great insurance policy and open options. If you agree with Dantoni then you agree having options for the playoffs is overrated.
lets stop overreacting here. Gerald Green came off the street and didn't play actual basketball in months and was able to be an actual contributor after a few games. being on the bench while still on an nba team after a game isn't making him clueless
Counted 10 players getting game time today. Black got Nene's burn which means that MDA may just trust 11 players to get game time when needed.
I agree, man. I really want to see G money contribute to this team. Giving him some of Ariza / Luc minutes would benefit this roster so much in the long-run.
Geez come on lol Paul 30 minutes, harden 32 and ariza 31 and still complaints? He gave Gerald 4 minutes give him a break.
lol, I dunno, was watching, got to the 2nd quarter, started thinking WTF is this. zoned off and did other ****.
PJ, Ryno and Mbah didn’t give us very much on offense. Could’ve gone small with PJ / Mbah / Ariza at the 4 and Green at SF. The mean is important, not one game of Ariza or anyone cracking 35-40 minutes.
thanks MDA for resting the stars and putting in green when we were up 20. happy? MDA has been using fixed rotations. subbing out people at fixed times during the game. Not situational/in-game player management depending on who's underperforming, overperforming, tired, and opponents like coaches for other contenders - kerr, pops, stevens, casey, lue you can't stop people giving opinions on a coach to manage rotations better and dynamically and not just put a 20pt capable player when you're up 20pts late in the fourth
Last night was the earliest I had seen MDA sub out his big dogs. It was around the 4:30 minute mark or something like that. It was plenty of time for the 20pt lead at the time to dwindle down to a 7 pt win in the end Needless to say, still glad MDA rested CP3 and Harden early.
