Lebron was solid overall in Miami with a great front office behind the scenes (i don't like Riley but yeah, he knows how to do his job), meanwhile the Cavs have been a mediocre if not bad organization for years...and i mean, with the state of today's NBA (hi Warriors), are we really going to lose the chance to sign the best player in the world just because there's some drama in Cleveland? Come on now...the drama is probably there cause Lebron is leaving, everyone knows this, and the the situation is out of control because of this.

I think the drama is more Gilbert than Lebron (sure, Lebron has his faults too). There's always been friction between Lebron and Gilbert.

The biggest mistake Gilbert made in the offseason was letting go of David Griffin (GM). For the most part, Griffin did well and he was a GM that the team respected (Per Lebron, "makes no sense why Griffin shouldn't get an extension"). His contract ended and Gilbert didnt want to keep him around for whatever reason.

I would be cautiously optimistic with Lebron coming to Houston. Based on what little we've seen of Fertitta - seems like he knows what he's doing as far as running a team, and we all know Morey knows what he's doing.

I sometimes wonder if LeBron has the power to change Houston into a Media darling, high exposure team or it would be more of the same and LeBron would be vilified? Which would i prefer?

I think about the amount of commercials, the amount of national tv games, the countless crazy Nike uniforms LeBron teams always have, the amount of bandwagon Rockets fans and haters. I think about all of us true Rockets fans being called bandwagon fans eventually. I think about Toyota Center finally being packed and loud and going to Rockets games becomes the thing to do, but filled with skinny jean wearing hipsters and fake booty/boobie hoes who only want a chance to be on National T.V. and don't really care about the Rockets.

I don't know how i feel about any of it. All i know is KD to GS changed the game and we pretty much have no choice but to try and win a ring the "cheap" way ourselves. Even if we somehow beat GS this year and win a ship, it's still not good enough to come back confidently and do it again and the goal is to win every year, so you still take LeBron but good thing is that if we win a ship this year, no way Lebron comes. It'll also be amazing and much more meaningful to win a ring THIS season with our realistically good team instead of the coming years with a crazy super team like GS has. I'm 100% certain true life long GS fans treasure the first ring over the one with KD or the one they expect to win this year.

As it stands, i'd prefer winning the "right way" and we get a Paul George type of player instead to create our big 3. I'd prefer being remembered more like the Bad Boy Pistons of the late 80s while the Warriors are like the 80s Lakers, the Cavs are like the 80s Celtics and the Spurs/Thunder/Celtics are like the 80s Sixers/Bucks/Hawks.
I'd prefer LeBron staying home in Cleveland for the rest of his career and they make a trade and they continue to contend East because i know Boston isn't beating GS or Houston or healthy SA in a 7 game series. I'd prefer there being 4 or 5 true contenders. If LeBron comes to Houston, it'll be 1 exciting WCF series which will be the actual championship series and then a boring Finals against a pretender EC team just like the boring 3 peat the Shaq/Kobe Lakers faced in the Finals when everyone knew the WCF was the real Finals. It'll also see a surge of free agents move East for eventually a lopsided strong East and weak West when GS and Houston are done contending.

All that said, you can't say no to LeBron if HE says he wants to come here. Let HIM choose us. Don't chase him like a bunch of beta males trying to get a little of the popular guys shine.

The All Star game will be VERY interesting with LeBron being captain and having first choice of a teammate from either conference. If he chooses Harden first? IT HAS BEGUN.

I almost expect it to be honest. With the speculation and predictions already happening, i wouldn't put it past LeBron to purposely create a media frenzy by selecting Harden first. He knows what he's doing and he knows it'll get a lot of attention.

It'll be AMAZING when Lebron comes to Houston to form the superteam to end all superteams, but then gets snubbed for the All Star game in favour of young Warrior Pat McCaw.

Gilbert's drama-queen public letter burning LeBron for leaving the Cavs the first time is proof enough of that.

Any good owner thanks the departing player for his time with the team, wishes him well for the future, then keeps his rich mouth shut. Gilbert got all butt-hurt on what was purely a business decision. That he chose to do so publicly (in Comic Sans, no less) pegs him as a bigtime drama queen.

I think the West starters are already established with James Harden in it and Lebron will pick from the reserve list from both east or west. :)

I'm so conflicted about this. I've been a fan of this team all my life and I want us to win the championship, but at the same time, it would feel a bit like selling out.

I want our guys to win it our way. LeBron coming here guarantees the championship, but maybe its the only way given how Durant took the superteam dynamic to the next level with his free agency.

I guess I want players to come here to contribute to our teams direction, history, and culture, and not as a temporary stop just to win the championship.

To be real though using comic sans was worse than the letter itself. It just made it so ridiculous.

Unless they want a boatload of future picks and a slightly used Anderson and fillers nahhh we’ll just wait till the eoffseason. This current team is so much fun to watch and has such great chemistry I’m afraid any shakeup might not be worth it.

no thats not how it works. the starters are their own pool and lebron can choose whoever he wants out of the 8 total other players from east/west
