I saw this during the game but looked away right before he changed his face back to straight immediately... I thought he was goofing with a fan or something but Draymond was prolly talking mess
That's not what happened at all. Paul in the FA would have been even more expensive, meaning we would have lost even more pieces. The best pieces we gave them are Bev and Lou, neither of which will help a Griffin led team past the 2nd round.
I think you mean past the 1st round... Not even a guarantee they can make the playoffs, let alone get to the conference semis. And if they do make the playoffs, they're going to most likely face the Warriors or Rockets in the first round.
Haven't seen this thread in awhile. People are still saying we gave up too much? Seriously? Sure... I would've liked to have kept Lou with the way he's been playing and the draft pick for sure. And Bev (no way to predict his injury) But- it's frickin CP3. I would have given up more to get him if we needed to CP3 is better than Butler or Paul George or Carmelo. He's better than Lou Williams and Bev. He is still a top 10 player in the league and one of, if not the, best PG in the game today
In hindsight...our deal is looking as solid as any. Paul George for Oladipo and Sabonis looks better for Indiana by the day. If George leaves OKC, then it's a disaster for OKC, which would make me especially happy. Kris Dunn is looking promising in Chicago, and Zach Lavine looks to be a quality guard as well, so the Butler to Minnesota deal is looking more even, though obviously Minnesota upgraded. I would have liked to have kept Harrell or Bev (Lou has been great this season but was pretty awful with us, so didn't care if he was still around), but CP3 has been as good as advertised, so we came out just fine.
also bulls getting Lauri Markkanen with the pick they got from Minny. he is looking like a pretty solid player at only 20 years old.
Forgot about that, good point. Probably the most important piece of that deal for Chicago. He does look real good.
this trade was a straight up steal for Morey can’t believe people still talk about the injured Bev, Lou who was garbage here, and young guys with limited potential like Harrell
Yeah, he was looking right at the Warriors' bench. Somebody was talking trash, and CP3's reaction was perfect: http://www.humorlabs.com/cp3.mp4
Pierce for CP3 Almost Happened: Daryl Morey almost traded Paul Pierce for Chris Paul during 2005 draft when he was in Celtics' front office (ESPN)
