Who made it official? You? Yesterday & the days/weeks/months prior, half the board was clamoring for DeAndre Jordan & Clint was to be sent on his way. We're in WIN NOW mode! We need DeAndre Jordan!
This will continue to yo-yo back and forth; that's why I answered "he is on his way". He shows flashes of being great, but then he gets wrecked by Wesley Johnson. He's built to be great against the Warriors; not against physical teams, so he will be polarizing.
Capela is trending up. As he gets stronger, he is going to join the MVP discussion. The real question is, what do y’all see his potential. Does 24pts, 12.5, 2.5 blocks seem reasonable?
i dont like to put it in numbers...dray (and perhaps even klay) have no flashy numbers yet they are among the biggest stars in this league, player s influencing success of the team
I am proud of Capela. I am very happy for him. He is beginning to feel his own abilities with confidence He is getting stronger. He is keep the ball high. He is manuevering better. ZaZa cannot keep up with Capela Green cannot make up the height difference without Ref Help When Capela is at his best . .. . the Warriors best hope will probably be Javele McGee If Anderson continues to rebound like he did last nite We won't miss his 3 ball near as much Maybe Golden State was off Maybe the Rockets were on but you know what . . . . I SAW THE HOLES IN THEIR GAME I SAW THE WEAKNESSES EXPOSED I saw their Humanity Rocket RIver
I was just parroting what the announcers said at the end of the game last night. I did no research. If they lied, I lied.
rockets and capela destroyed their frontline iin my eyetest... cant remember when was the last time they didnt have so much easy layups and lobs on the rim obtained through smart plays...btw why mcgee did not play?
I'd see it as an issue if we were getting out-rebounded, but we out-rebounded Minny by 5 and GS by 13. Over the last 2 games, it seems Clint has just been letting the team do more of the rebounding...for example CP3 has been getting a ridiculous amount of defensive rebounds lately, kind of reminds of what Adams does for Westbrook. Which IMO is totally fine, as long as we are out-rebounding the opposing team. It allows Clint to focus a bit more on contesting shots and running the floor for a quick dunk.
Even last year, he performed better against the Warriors than other blue collar centers like DJ. He averaged 15+9.3 last year against GSW, DJ's numbers are 11+9. He is a more versatile defender and a better offensive player than DJ, which suits us better against the warriors. Last night is in fact the first time I felt like that Capella can be a game changer for us against the Warriors. They definitely want to go small against us because their centers get tortured by Paul and Harden when switched onto them, but if Capella doesn't get beaten too badly when guarding Curry/KD/Klay, he can take advantage of smaller defenders and score very efficiently inside. I would be very interesting to see how this goes in the playoffs.
I don't remember the game against wolves clearly, but the game against GSW, we switched a lot defensively, that puts Capella on the perimeter and Paul inside, that's why Paul gets more rebounds than Capella. In Westbrook's case, OKC seldom switch Adams onto small guards. Their defensive scheme almost always puts Adams to anchor the mid, and they have the best wing defender duo in the league, so Westbrook rarely needs to guard elite ball handlers who involve in lots of P&R situations. Adam just box out for Westbrook and let him get uncontested rebounds.
I don't see how Paul at 6'0 with modest athletecism could get 10 defensive rebounds, even with him being switched on the inside sometimes lol, I think both Clint/Ryno do a little boxing out for CP3 too. But it could help some and it does add another level of depth as to why Clint only had 5 rebounder each over the last 2 games, and why guys like CP3 and Anderson have been getting more rebounds of late.
Can’t say for sure how many times our starting line up played together but I know numbers. JH13 missed 7 games CP3 missed 17 games Ariza missed 4 games Capela missed 5 games Anderson Unfortunately hasn’t missed much time 1 game. Currently the Rockets sit at 32-12 that is 44 games. Add all those numbers up of games missed which equals 34. That leaves 10 games with everyone healthy together. So 10 games our starters have played together. Rotation is Starters Harden CP3 Capela The Anderson’s are going to the game how’d they get tickets to the game?!? Ariza 6th man Gordon 7th Luc 8th Tucker 9th Nene 10th Green. Yep it will be a 10 man rotation. Keep those mins down...hope this helps.
He is like Amar'e Stoudemire. Cuts and dunks! Couldnt imagine the rockets paying him the max but he deserves it if he continues his roll
Capela hasn't been able to create for himself in the past, but the game against GSW he had 2 (i think) pretty awkward points where he dribbled to the rim from around the key and made the bucket. One was a eurostep and another was just a strong power through drive. I bring this up because it sort of opened my eyes, it seems like Clint is working on this area and he is getting the confidence to drive in the lane on the occasion if there is space given to him. Those 2 plays weren't pretty coz it seemed like he could get stripped easily, but if Capela has the potential to develop in this area I would have to say he is going to be very close to being big 3. Even If Capela could develop limited skills to create for himself he is going to be scary good
I stand corrected. Marc Gasol(16/17): 19.7 pts, 6.3 rbs, +21(+/-) DeMarcus Cousins (16/17): 20.7 pts, 8.7 rbs, -29(+/-) Their rebounds were not as good as Capela. Your numbers check out with D Jordan For me it’s more about Capela catching the lob away from the rim and going; not worrying about the defenders. He started doing it the previous game vs the Warriors and last night gathered and attacked. Wasn’t worried about getting blocked or picking up a charge. Less thinking and more “JUST DOING.” Good job James.B.H.
